Oh yeah, the darker color gloves make the piece jump out at you. It definitely is not distracting.

My art asylum Daredevil really fits in well with the HH statues, I think I am just gonna go with it for this scale.

Not really. I always felt that the costume would be darker and the boots, gloves and symbol would be a bit lighter. A lot of artists, especially after Frank Miller, depicted Daredevil's costume in dark or far off scenes as more heavily shadowed or black and the boots, gloves and DD symbol were red.
