Photoshop advise

Guys

seeing some of the cool photoshop'd stuff in other threads - can anyone point me in the right direction for someone who wanst to have a go with at it. I have some penciled/inked sketches such as:

(i'll add some more images later) of stuff that i am about to start painting, but after seeing some of the art on the forum I'm going to have a go at photoshopping them instead.

Any advice? Googling the topic has not really helped.
