i don't have any of his work, but have checked it out with interest on ebay a few times. i was always just feeling sketchy about ordering something from another country, and an artist i didn't know. but glad to know that you got that bpanther -- i saw that one and liked it. now that he's moving to the states, please someone let us know when he's up and running again -- i would order something from him at some point; he's quite talented.

I ordered an ARH Ghost Rider from another Brazilian seller. It arrived broken and the seller was trying to work with me but was taking his time about it. I had already known about the ARH website and had been talking to Arahom and Luiz about this situation. I asked them how I could fix the statue.
To make a long story short, their answer was to send me a brand new Ghost Rider Statue...free of charge. This was done even though I did not buy the original statue from them.
Arahom is a class act and I wish him the best when he is up and running again. :)
GUY'S THEY ARE GREAT. if you need help with a better person to order from i have it . great ebayer who deal's with arh 100% feedback and if something breaks they will send you a new one email me and i'll give you his address , and will also let you know when the site is up , fullsize PHANTOM STATUE IS SHIPPING OUT MONDAY CAIN'T WAIT FOR THAT . GOT THE FLASH STATUE IN THE CLASSIC YELLOW AND RED . i pay the extra 40. bucks to get it here in 5 days that's what you wanna do not let it linger for 2-3weeks

a freind has the red skull statue and it is nice. I have ARH's flying Superman piece and want that Doomsday to go under Superman.
I like his work and that he is doing everything now. A lot of his pieces are from a basic body he worked out a few years ago and have a "generic" look sometimes. his more dynamic pieces are very nice that Is why I got the flying Superman.
Box arrived beat to hell but inside the statue was in sweet condition. Arahom and his group have always been very polite and quick in responces in all dealing I've had with them.

CK & others--
I know about Brazilian statues pretty well. I have 4 Sculptix statues (not ARH, only "20 made" of each one...under the radar for the copyright issue), but I have looked into the ARH as well.
ARH does have some very nice looking pieces. Some are so-so. CK speaks of a generic run of characters, where they are standing w/ head to one side or the other, arms slighly curled at wrists and elbows and with fists clinched. Basically, the sculpt was only changed slightly from character to character. They did Flash, Captain Marvel (Marvel), Dr. Manhattan and a good many others. I skipped all of these due to the generic pose. The Flash (I like the red/gold better than their red/yellow version) but he is standing instead of running.
There were/are some Brazilian politics where some there claimed that ARH sold his molds to others, then did recasts on the pieces he still had...some pretty hard feelings that I have seen fleshed out via email with some folks down there. I dont know how true this claim is...only that it is claimed. Then there is the idea that some say he has taken some BD busts and put bodies on them, basically (without giving credit where credit was due).
But some of the pieces are very nice. If one looks at his whole body of work, one can see how his skills have sharpened over some of his very early work.
As an aside, my Sculptix Magneto full sized statue is one of my favorite pieces. It will be tough for BD or anyone to beat this pose, etc.
waiting now for my full size phantom statue end of next week now there's a statue you won't see be done anytime soon , i got to get that full size red skull awsome , i agree with you on the flying superman only one i like out of the others , you really have to look hard at them to see which is best all i know is that the fullsize classic black panther statue was done really well i think hes best statue goes with my captain america freakin awsome.

I dont know how to get a pic from my computer to the site...a damn shame. I hate that one can only post pics from the web. What gives?
Nonetheless, my pics are posted at two places on the web. The first is on the "bowenfans" yahoo group in the pics section under a title name that fits with my handle. The second place is on the universmarvel.com website under the section containing the personal collections pics. Most, but not all, of my collection is posted at either of these places . . .
. . . including the Magneto statue.

Hi Guys,
I was invited to participate by Zurbaran1, And I spent a couple hours yesterday reading carefully most of the posts in this forum. I realized that you guys are really nice people and I fell very good when I read your words about me and my work !!!!
I'm 31 years old and I have been doing that, for more then 9 years now !!!! I love to sculpt super-heroes statues and I think that I would not be able to do anything else in my life !!! lol
I noticed that there are some questions about me... And I would love to answer everyone of them.
I'm living now here in the US, in Pesahstin near to Seattle WA. This country and all the Americans that I met here until now received me with too much love and care, I feel really welcome and I would like to thanks for that...
I know there are too many people that enjoy my work and stile but there are others that don't... Some guys talk badly about me and others don't !!! This is normal and I can live with that, I only ask you guys to be fair on your words about me.
I will be checking regularly this forum now and answering any questions you guys may have, So I will give my opinion about the subjects here posted !!
thanks so much and have a great day !!!

Here's something funny as hell that I think has happened.
This guy asked me to sculpt some of his characters for a comic book. ARH got the gig to do them. Lo and behold, he gets both pieces. They're kitbashed Bowen Captain America statues.
If you look at the pieces, you people will know exactly what I am saying is true.
They are re-casts, and remakes of Bowen pieces. No wonder you people love them.
Next thing you know, he'll be working FOR Bowen.

Here's yet another piece in a long line of kitbashed Bowen works.
Hey Zurb, Dfury, you might want to investigate his work a little more thoroughly. If you can't see the total ripping off of Bowen, then you're blinder than a bat.

I must be blinder than a bat, because I have both Bowen Captain America full-size statues in front of me and I honestly can't find the "kitbashed" work. I can see that ARH prefers a classic RB statue pose (which is understandable), but I can't identify the recasting.
You mentioned that ARH is making this sculpt from "remakes of Bowen pieces", so if you have the time, can you please break it down for me so that I can see the obvious recasting? Thanks.

There's another thread, where I post multiple pics of the same pieces. I even got to see one of his pieces, up close, and compared it to my Bowen Cap statue. They're identical in size. You're only here because I'm railing on someone else. Wait til I post the Bowen Cap statue pics, and then it will become crystal clear.

I hope this helps CarrillJ to pull his head out of his butt. Look at the thighs, the hands, the feet, and of course, now the base, and you've got yourself a pretty good clone of a Bowen piece. Again... Don't let me stop you folks from believing. Buy his stuff all you want.

If the same pose is used from one sculptor to another that qualifies it as a recast? Give me a break. That means 90% of all the comic artists are plagerists.

Yet another dispatch from planet tard.
Here's something you should understand. Posing is different than RECASTING. I have seen his work, and it is indeed made from recast statues. If someone can prove me wrong, then do it. Don't try to change the subject by being a moron.
Ban me if you think I'm out of line, I don't care. I posted not only an opinion, but BLATANT PROOF!!!!
Of course, since I'M the one who posted it, I should be called to the carpet right?? Get bent.
Tommy Allison
02-17-2005, 08:45 PM
Just to explain something to planet Tard, and those refugees from it,
The pics that NBR posted, are not the same size, or even the same sculpt as the other pieces I've shown. They might be rip-offs of other poses, but I can assure you that they're not the RECAST cap statue in question. That is an altogether different subject for discussion.
The problem with ARH's work, is that it is derived from the recasting of other people's work. Of course, you won't see that, because you're trying to change the subject.
Please have D-Fury, or Zurb cancel my account. If you think I'm out of line for telling the truth, then this forum is better served by having someone else who doesn't make waves take my place.

Tommy,
If you want to make a case, go right ahead. Just ease up on the personal insults. If someone has insulted you as well, let me know and i'll talk to them. I think it's cool for you or anyone else checking out for recasts. No problem. Just state your case and let's see what he says. If someone supports him, so be it. Let's just do this like adults and not having to tell people off.
I'm not fully aware of the situation but I have heard in the past about a company in Brazil doing Bowen recasts out of the daredevil statue. I remember seeing the work and was pissed too. If he at once did such things, let's hear his story and judge afterwards. I don't understand why the personal insults? If someone is a dumbass, you think that by insulting them it will make them smarter? Banning is not done on those who oppose but those who get too personal with the insults. Maybe I've missed something on another thread but from what I read here, you mention to zurb and dfury to check it out followed by an insult. If it was meant as a joke, it doesn't follow the rythm of your post.

Dear TOMY ALLYSON,
Now I understood why you are so upset about me and my work !!! You lost the job of Fred Reys to me !!! Man, thank you for that. I got more then $ 5000 from that job, and Fred Reys is 100 % satisfied with my work. You can ask him if you want. He wrote me and asked me to make all his statues with the same body as I made my Captain America. He was so satisfied that after the first three statues that I sculpted, he asked me to make 4 more !!!
I can sculpt whatever I want !!! Any character, any style, any pose. I'm sorry if you don't !!! You are envious and jealous !!! You didn't even go through the trouble of looking carefully at Bowen's statue and comparing it to mine. You never put them both together side by side ...Your envy has blinded you to the point of not even perceive that the statues are totally different in all the details !!! I had a Captain America statue from Bowen, and when I sculpted mine I had his statue on my work desk and told myself I was capable and I would sculpt a statue like his one, but without the anatomic defects that his has. The shoulders are differed sizes and the arms are different, one arm is bigger than the other. The calves are extremely long and out of line with the human anatomy. I notices all those details because I had it in my hand; but it seems that maybe you have only seen the statue on eBay pictures.
I don't need to make recasts, and if you think that sculpting hands and feet and a body in a simple pose like that is something difficult to the point that one has to get pieces of the statues from other sculptors. it's because you must have that difficulty and you imagine that others may have the same problem. On my first post I gave you a tip, but you didn't pick up on it. I told you I used to sculpt 5 statues at the same time on one week... It means that I am able to sculpt a full statue in about one and a half day.
Last night at 9:00 PM Western time I read your pathetic posts and saw the pictures you posted. So I decided to start sculpting a statue exactly like my first Captain America, but this time photographing the process of exactly how I made it the first time. Unfortunately I didn't have a digital camera 2 years ago, and I didn't take pics of the statues I sculpted. But now I can prove that you are wrong, that you are jealous and that you are pathetic in your comments. See the pictures and swallow your words!!!!
Feel free to apologize. I don't hold a grudge.

Before you go off about using Fred Reyes as an excuse as to why you think I'm railing on you, far from it. Fred didn't want to pay my price, just like I didn't really want to sculpt Fred's stuff. Of course, if I had a statue that I'd done, and could make castings, and customize them, I could turn out cheap sculpts all day long.
The fact that Fred went to you, was purely on the basis of economics, which is fine by me. That's how the market works. You're cheaper than I am, which is why Fred went to you. As for how much money you made off of Fred, that's your business. If Fred paid you money for your stuff, more power to him. It's his choice. I have no heartburn about it one way or the other. Fred could have gone anywhere, and I'm glad he went with you, because he got what he paid for.

But then, on planet Tard, I think we hold ourselves to a higher standard. But that's just my opinion. I guess those on other planets don't.

Gee, would it matter if I apologized? Really? Seeing as how nobody has ever once apologized to me for their conduct, why should I? Oh wait, I guess the rules apply to me and me only.
He still hasn't clarified whether or not he recasts his stuff, and then customizes it. Not to mention the fact that he's admitted to doing exactly what I said on other threads, as well as in the Bowen Forum.
CarrillJ, if you're a moderator then ban me. Oh wait, you're not. So get F-ed and die already. I already asked to have this account closed anyway. I figured since I made such an egregious mistake that I probably needed to just quit posting here.
I have to admit, if he can perpetually re-sculpt the same pose, EVERY SINGLE TIME, he's apparently better at it than most people I've seen. As far as apologizing, that's as good as it gets. I thought his rebuttal was funny too, because I actually deserved some of it. Even though he seems to be a one-trick pony.
Glad someone proved me wrong, I stand corrected. Thanks for going out of your way to clarfiying things. Now go sculpt something so your fans can pay you gobs of money.

Dear Tommy Allison,
Man, I tried to be as funny as possible and keep things light so nobody would have hurt feelings. I am not in any way holding a grudge against you or anyone else who has ever spoken negatively about my work. I'll explain now, once and for all, ( to you and anyone else who is interested in knowing ) about how I do my work.
A few years ago I created a sculpture of a neutral naked basic body for my own use. I don't like to start from scratch every time I make a statue, because it takes a lot of time and a lot of clay. So I simply get this resin copy of my naked basic body and sculpt over it. This is not a recast. I'm just using my own work which I myself created. If I have a good chest, arms and legs that I can use to create something new, why should I have to sculpt the same thing from scratch every time ??? It doesn't make sence. Like I already told you, I used to sculpt 5 new statues in one week, and working this way I've saved a lot of time. That's why I was so fast.
Of course, I can't use this work method for every piece. Some I make from scratch, others I don't. All of Fred's statues, my Captain America and many others, I sculpted over that same basic body. But what is wrong with that ??? It's my statue and my creation. I'm allowed to use my own work to sculpt my own stuff !!! I"M NOT RECASTING MYSELF !!!
When I sculpted my Captain America, in all humility, I tried to make a better CA then Bowen. But, WOW, the guy is awesome !!! It's hard to be better then him. His boots, his gloves, his hands... the guy is really hard to beet !!! However, what ended up happening is that I sculpted a statue very similar to his, because I had his statue in my hand and did my best to sculpt what I was seeing in his.
If you or somebody else wants to know, I used Bowen's Black Widow's face ( only the face ) in a few older female statues of mine - like Wonder Woman, Dolphin, Phoenix and Bat Girl ( This one I used the whole statue ). Besides that I used Bowen's Vision Bust head in my Full size Vision statue. Absolutely NOTHING ELSE !!! No other parts of Bowen's statues are in my work !!!
I am not ashamed to admit that I used those parts. I don't believe that that in any way diminishes my talent or work as a sculptor. As I already told you, when I made those statues it was for a professional seller who used to buy my stuff and sell it on eBay without my knowledge. You can believe it or not, but I only discovered the eBay market one year ago !!! I didn't even have a computer at home at that time !!! -- and didn't even know how to send an email !!! I think " I " was the one who lived on another planet. Since I realized my name is already known by hundred of people who enjoy the statue comics, I have been trying to do better stuff, which is why everyone realized that the quality of my work increased. Before I really didn't care so much about the quality or what about what I was doing. I just did it to make enough money to support myself.
So, having said all that, I think there's nothing else to be said on this subject. This story is really old and spent. I don't do recasts of anyone's work. I don't need that. Actually, I'm trying to be the best sculptor, that's what I'm aiming for. Of course, there's always someone better, but can't stop me from trying !!!
I hope you are not really upset by all this and let's talk about good things. Show me some pictures of your work. I would like to know what you do.
Best,
Tommy Allison

Works for me. You can see my work on my site, and on a few threads here.
I'm not pissed at you, I thought your reply was funny, and I did deserve it for being a prick. If you're sculpting all of your stuff, and can literally match it one to another, you're doing something that cannot. Once I do a piece, that's pretty much it. No duplication at my studio. Meaning, that if I were to try to sculpt another Batman or Superman piece, identical to another one of mine, it wouldn't be the same.
At any rate, I made my point, you made yours, and we're square. Thanks
Tommy

Hey guys don't sweat it. The other day I was looking around universmarvel.com and found out that Daredevil2710 had recast my gif signature. I didn't get mad. I was like oh well that's cool. I am glad everything is settled between the two of you. Now AR do you think you could do a Blue Beetle with a Kevin Maguire inspired face?

I like the capt statue, even the face turned out dead on . The body was in proportion and the legs were not as thick as most capt statues I have seen sculpted. ARH when are you going to finish it up?
I think when people say your faces were a bit rough , I would say looking at your work in the past the female faces gave you the most trouble when they were unmasked. IT would seem with better materials available here in the states your sculpts are looking 100% better. :buttrock:

Hi guys
I may too late (love a happy ending) but I happen to have both Cap statues sculpted by Arahom and Randy.
They are of different sizes--the ARH one is bigger. Should I take a picture of them displayed side-by-side? Just say the word.
Both are awesome statues, by the way!

I don't use that much clay, because over time it cracks apart. I also make my own super sculpey. Right now I'm working on my own sculpting wax formula. I'm also trying to re-install the drivers for my digital camera, yet another virus got through and had to re-install parts of windows.
Bad week so far.

No doubt you do but I was talking to Tommy. He came down pretty hard on me for asking Arahom to participate. But that's all behind us.

i was lucky to get one of your fullsize black panther statues before you left for the U.S., #7 of 20 made and signed on the bottom by ARAHOM RADJAH , i think it was his best statue , it's a great piece, i put it next to BOWEN CAP STATUE, look great next to each other.

I will post the drawing just after he finish with it !!!!
I will be able to start this project about 03/20/2005 !! So start saving your coins because This time I will detonate !!!! :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock:
