This guy NEEDS an original Balrog statue in the worst way. He's been crying to me about it ever since we first met back on the old forum. Surely there must be SOMEONE on the boards who has an extra (or one they don't want) and can help out this guy. I will even offer up CK or Booney for a weekend of fun and excitement to the generous fellow (or both for a number below 100). I'll pay for the ice cream and bowling, anything else is on you. :thumbs2:

Have you got a pic of it and how much do these things go for? I can check out all the local comic shops in town here and see if anyone has one.

First of all, the Balrog is the holy grail of Sideshow collectibles. You will NOT find it in any comic store.

It goes anywhere from 1600 to 2200 depending on market statistics. It is nowhere near as good or valuable etc as a Bowen Bronze which is what this price tag is leaning toward.

Personally, I actually don't like it THAT much. It would be awesome to own at its retail price of 300 but can't imagine paying two thousand for it. I'd save a bit more and go after a bronze instead.

But I have faith that Zurb will attain it someday. It's not hard to find actually. On any given day there's an average of 2 or 3 on ebay. Prices have been around 1600 to 1800 actually.

One of these days when I make enough money to do it without my fiancee/wife killing me I may think about it but the Bowen bronzes are above it in my mind of holy grails.

No doubt you are correct but I have to believe (fantasize) that out there somewhere, tucked away in a coner shelf of some comic store there is a Balrog waiting to be claimed. I remember on the old Bowen board some fellow who posted how he walked into a shop somewhere and saw not one but two Balrog boxes sitting up on some dusty shelf. He grabbed both and may have even paid less than retail. I am painfully aware of how much the Balrog and several other pieces on my list are now selling for. However, even at $2000, this does not approach the current going rates for the Bowen Bronzes which is around $5000.

Like you, I'd gladly pay $300 for one of these but can't see myself spending $2000 right now (unless I hit the lottery). I saw the new Balrog in a shop over the weekend and I have to say I like it very much. It looks even nicer than the pictures. I've got one on the way and it will fill that Balrog void for now.
