I do not collect LOTR statues... But if Sideshow were to make a Full Size Statue of Treebeard to be in scale with the others... It would probably be around 6ft Tall.... How many of you would buy it?

If I collected the LOTR statues I would buy it! :buttrock:

So what you think Rick? $2500 - $3000 Maybe? Or Higher?

RickDTM

Oh yeah....probably higher than that. I'm using the Alien Queen as a guide here, as she seems to be the biggest piece they have to date. She's only a bust, and at 2ft tall she's close to $1000. She's relatively skinny, so something big and thick like a 5-6ft Treebeard would be upwards of $4-5K I think.....not to mention how much shipping a monster like that would cost! It would weigh in at probably close to 100lbs I think. Polystone is pretty heavy stuff.

I agree with RIck. I think it would be at least 4-5k, probably too much.

And also, since Treebeard was at least as tall as a 300 year Old Oak, I doubt that many people wuld have the space for that one. A 1/10 scale or similar might be more appropriate.

There full size are about teh same size as Bowen. Its hard to gage as the Morgul Lord is much bigger that the orcs.

CK I found the website for the 30' Treebeard but it has been shut down! Bummer I wanted that picture. It was in front of a lodge or camp. Carved from a tree, and massive! Didn't look the greatest but a really cool idea.

Rick, the retail on Treebeard was $300. It really jumped up in price a while back and you couldn't get your hands on one for less than $400. Some were going for close to $600. The price has come down and it looks to have settled at around $350. I remember seeing one a few months ago that went for soemthing like $260 on eBay. There were only 1500 of these made so it is on the low end as far as production numbers and I would not be surprised to see this one start moving up again. If you don't have one, and it sounds like you do not, all I can say is, this is a fabulous piece. Just massive and this one has your name all over it as far as repainting. You could really go to town on it.

Thanx for the info Zurb.....and another one goes on the list. I curse myself for not picking this up originally, but initially it did nothing for me. Now that I get a better look at the size of this monster, I want one!

Still blaming you for all of this..... :D

I get blamed for a lot of stuff around here. It's a burden I must bare. :D
I went through the same thing. Initially I didn't really pay much attention to this one. Then when I decided to get one the price was just crazy. I'm glad I waited. One day they sent my LCS a couple and I grabbed on right away. It did cost me $350 though. Well worth it if you ask me. This piece commands attention. You will go to town on it and the end result will be nothing short of spectacular.

It's kinda like diverting the Eye of Sauron ( in this case my wife's baleful glare). If I keep her busy hunting for Zurb, I'm free to commit wanton acts of purchasing! :D
