I think the Avengers Beast looks INCREDIBLE!!!!!! It's like the return of an old friend! The Beast I grew up with! All he needs now is a FS Wonder Man in red safari jacket! Woo-Hoo! My only complaint....no yellow waistband! It needs to be blue or black! Yellow might be X-Men Beast, but definitely not Avengers Beast!

It really, really is! For anyone who grew up with this version(& hates what Grant Morrison did when he turned Hank into the Beauty & the Beast TV show version) it's just one of the best things that Bowen has ever done. Seriously!

The Perez Beast looks a little too demonic to me, not the way Perez drew him. His eyes are angry but his mouth is smiling. The eyes on this one don't work for me with the rest of the face. I like the change in the hair, though.

New X-Men was GREAT and Astonishing X-Men is one of the best comics EVER, but...I HATE what Morrison did to Hank! He admitted in interviews that he was going for the Beauty & the Beast TV show look. AWEFUL! I hope Joss Whedon gives us the normal furry Beast back before the end of his run. I can't believe more fans haven't been outraged! I guess he's not Wolverine, so who cares?

I will disagree. It depends on your age. To me the Perez Beast is the ONLY Beast! To say that the Jim Lee version isn't as good is a diservice. It looks great, but for me, Perez wins hands down!

Same here. And I used to be such a huge X-Men fan. I got frustrated with the deluge of X-titles following Jim Lee's X-Men #1 but still kept up to a point, but Morrison and Quitely killed it for me for sure. Until Astonishing I'd given up on the franchise altogether.
