I definitely want a FS red safari jacket Wonder Man to go with the Avengers Beast. Do you?

Maybe it should be limited to 400 statues since so many hate R.S.J. Wonder Man? His fans are few, but passionate!

Plus Randy would be the 1st kid on the block to start off a Mighty Avengers collection, since the R.S.J. will be back in that series!

What about if it came with a naked Wanda that looked like the Scarlet Witch in the latest Bendis Avengers? YUM!

While it would go with the Beast FS, its not something I would want. The MBs of Beast and WM display nicely enough together so that this is not needed.

This is a tough call. I'd prefer the original green costume, but it's use was mainly split between his time as a villain or a zombie. I really loathe the Wonder Man MB, but that's due (in large part) to the big, goofy Bucky grin. The Ionic Wonder Man would look cool, but it's a bit too "current" to go with the bulk of the 60's-70's era Avengers that have been released up 'till now.

If Randy could give us a cool, action-oriented, ass-kicking Simon Williams in his red Daktari jacket...yeah, I'd buy it. Hell, he looked awesome when Michael Golden and John Byrne drew him, so I'm sure BD could pull it off.

Just please...no pepsodent smile.

When was there any Wonder Man to love, red safari jacket or otherwise?

I've always liked the safari jacket look, most of the others with the W-motif look kind of generic to me. The early appearance green versions are downright eyesores.

I say bring it on, but I doubt it would be too popular.

I'd totally buy a FS Safari-Jacket WonderMan, but I'm positive I'm in the minority on that one. Still, I hope Simon gets the FS treatment somehow, sometime, and honestly, the jacketed look was the longest-standing, wasn't it?

I don't want the original green and red. I agree with Tet--too generic looking. My second choice for a FS would be the black and red togs from his ongoing series and into the Busiek revamp, on into his ionic period.

That's being kind.

If you took that MB, painted it blue and stuck a couple antennae on his head, you'd have the perfect Tick MB.

A Wonder Man full-size is a great idea, but I doubt that Randy's going to commit to a FS Wonder Man in that safari jacket after what happened with the mini-bust. Anybody else notice that Safari Jacket Simon was DEAD LAST in the "Favorite MBs of 2006" poll... right after the Scarlet Spider (for God's sake)!

Don't get me wrong... I'm glad we have the Wonder Man bust, and I would have put it ahead of about a dozen other busts if I could have ranked every bust in that poll, but Wonder Man has a lot of other looks than his "I'm really a movie star, folks" image, and it's time for one of them to see three dimensions.

Maybe a Wonder Man FS done like Adam Warlock... with modern (pre-"Mighty Avengers") and classic versions, and (God help us) yet another poll to help decide the classic version, with the Safari Jacket as one of the options.

So did Doop, Doc Samson, Bucky, Triton. So what does that say about Wonder Man? It says comic fans will buy anything no matter how lame.:buttrock:

And Bowen as a business man should make things that sell, right? That's how you make an income. For the record...I would buy a FS Doc Samson in a heart beat. He is one of my favorite characters. I would also buy a FS Bucky. The critics don't get to win. The consumer does. Woo-Hoo!

I would wonder how many of those are completists that bought it whether they liked it or not, just to remain completists?

Wonderman, whether you consider him a superhero or supervillain, looks like neither in that red jacket. He looks like a tourist. IMO.

No. We have no way of knowing how many people who bought the safari jacket Wonder Man bust would also buy a safari jacket Wonder Man FS.

What we do know is that half the safari jacket Wonder Man busts listed on eBay in the last month went unsold, even at prices under $30. A lot of the 1500 WM busts went to dealers, some of whom are now stuck with dead stock.

IMO, a kick-@$$ Wonder Man FS -- no grin, no Hollywood pose, no safari jacket... a FS that is all business, super-no-goodnik's @$$-kicking action, a study in sheer power, letting us see those fists that hit with the impact of Thor's hammer do what they do best -- would appreciate (not drop) in resale value.

But enough with the safari jacket, already.

I got my WM bust for $20. And that was all I was willing to pay for it. It's ok, but I wanted either the green/red (which we WILL be getting!), the blue ion version, or the black/red version more.

But I wouldn't by a FS of any version unless it totally knocked my socks off. There was a kit out there of the cover of Avengers #9 (his 1st app) that I really considered, but passed on.

I bought that Wonder Man kit, and it knocked my socks off. It's superb. And perfectly in scale with BD FS statues.

I just got it in November and haven't built it yet, but the kit looks every bit as good in person as Thrust Resin's photos suggest.

Bottom line for me in regards to costume preference is the period and comics the look is from. The early Perez run on Avengers is my favorite period, but I only started reading when Wondy was in the safari jacket. For me, despite the non-super heroic look of the costume, that is Wonder Man to me.

If I never read anything about the character, I'd pick out the sixth costume (1989) pictured in the link below under costumes as my favorite.

Not necessarily true. Some of those 1500 MBs went to LCSs and they may be sitting in inventory. A sell out at BD does not mean every piece is in the hands of a collector.

I like the safari jacket version.

My first avenger comic's was the danish translated version's.

with WM in safari jacket, so that one reminds me of the good times in my childhood. So I vote yes.

I like the black outfit with the red W best though.
