My friend found Banshee, Hulk, and Beast. The Hulk was the best of the three, and Beast is a great representation of the movie version, but Banshee looked awful to me. He found them at Target in Lexington, KY

Banshee does indeed look terrible. Beast is decent though. Everybody else is okay

Saw the new Hasbro series at Target today and I swear I almost throw up...:puke2:
This is one sorry looking series, they're even worse than those Toybiz 1994 figures...The package looks dumb, it doesn't come with a comic and they raise the price tag to 10 dollars each!!:stick:
Still bought the Hulk and Hercules but I can't feel the joy anymore...
It's just their first shot and I'm missing the good old Toybiz day already...
BTW, for those who likes variant, I saw a variant package Ironman. The regular ver. shows the head of Tony Stark and the variant has it's helmet on.
It's the worst ML I've ever seen and I hate Hasbro even more.:stick:

Oh, another thing, I spotted the movie Ghost Rider figure as well, and holy moly I cried...They're worse than the new ML, I feel soooooooo sorry for Hasbro but really, I'm an action figure collecotr and I loathe these figures with my passion...

I don't know what's up here in Huntsville, Alabama. I went to a Target and a Wal-Mart tonight and you know how many Marvel Legends I found? ZERO! Not a one, not the old ones, not Hasbro. I was absolutely stunned. I thought, well, at least I'll pick up the new Spider-Man Origins Mysterio. Guess what? They had ALL of the line EXCEPT Mysterio! Arggh!

But I did find all the Marvel Super Hero Squad lil figures I wanted. And I even found an odd little Mysterio figure (about 2 inches high) to add to Mysteriopalooza. So the trip wasn't a total loss. :)

BY the way my local store has a mysterio if you want me to grab it for you. Also if that store of yours has an Iron spidey from the Origins line id be mighty obliged if you could grab one for me :)

I found this is in a Target discount isle for $3.92 (the tall thing in the back left of my display). It's called "Spider-Man Stunt System Mystery Web Net Theater." What a long-winded name! It comes with a little Spidey with magnets on his hands and feet and a little catapult for some odd reason. Mysterio is supposed to go up under the marquee. When you press the thing Mysterio is standing on in the pic, a web falls down below. I dunno either. Anyway, for less than $4 I had to pick it up.

But I believe my display won't deserve the "Mysteriopalooza" name until I get Bowen's fullsize statue later this month. I need the Spidey Origins Mysterio, too. Notice I even got a Mysterio Bean in the front right. :) I'm outta control, I know. :confused2

Agreed with the comments about how poor the quality of these new Hasbro ML are.
The packages are terrible, there is no comic any more. The BAF is just about regular figure size now. The plastic is a horrible type, makes them look crappy.
I'm so bummed. I really hope these listen to the fans and do something about this.
I hope the rumors about Toybiz making a Legends line based on Image and Indie comics are true....

I forgot to mention, the package is changed as well, love the old look MUCH MUCH better.
The new package is the same thing from the Star War ROTS 12" figure line, cheap looking, no comic, not even the comic-covers-background.
The character picture on the package looks funny, too.
The sculpt is actually pretty decent, but the skin tone and the helmet wings kill the whole thing, and they start using real fabric...Now we got something that's even more Barie-looking than Sideshow PF...
The next in line are Doom and Punisher, fabric cape for Doom as well.

I saw the Hasbro figs today and thought they looked awful. I don't collect the figures, but have always loved looking at them at the stores or shows.

Banshee's face looked yellow like his hair and costume. Hulk looked cheap and like he were made 10 years ago. Hercules looked OK but seemed to be of popeye proportions. WHite Queen (I think it was her) looked like White Trash Queen. Seriously they looked awful

I finally got to see the Hasbro Legends line for the first time today. All in all I thought they look better in person than the pics indicate, but still not up to Toybiz quality. That said I'm pretty happy with the Planet Hulk figure.

Is Annihilus faded out tremendously compared to the pics or was it just the set my store had? His costume was the shade of pink I expect to find on a baby girl's clothes.

I bought the entire series today and here's my review.

Overall: Maybe I've gotten far too used to the excellent ToyBiz sculpts, but these seem to look cheap and flimsy, and the paint is crappier.

Price: $17 Canadian, and the ToyBiz's were only $15 CDN. So basically I paid $2 bucks more and don't get a comic.

Planet Hulk: Decent figure. Pretty big and is fairly heavy. I don't understand why he has a shield but no sword or mace. I don't keep up with the comic and I'm not sure if he has a weapon in it, but it would make sense to have one for the figure.

Planet Hulk Variant: 1 of 2 Variants in the series, Hulks left arm is grey/silver. Other than that it's the same as the regular.

Ultimate Iron Man: Probably my favourite of the series. I like the metallic red. For those of you who keep your figures in the package (I open mine), IM's helmet comes off to reveal Tony with a really nifty bowl-haircut. Geez it's dorky looking. Needless to say I'll keep his helmet on.

Ultimate Iron Man Variant: 2nd of 2 Variants, it's only a variant if you keep the figures in their packages. The reg. version has the figure with the helmet on, while the variant is packaged with helmet off. If you open your figures like I do, it's not really a variant.

Hercules: Nice figure. The only issue I have with it, and maybe I'm being picky, but would you really expect an ancient God to wax his chest?

Beast (X3): It's a decent figure. Nuff said.

Banshee: 2nd worse figure of the lot. The cloth wings are very gaudy but are removeable, and I just may do that. The paint looks really cheap and hastily done also.

Emma Frost: I saved the worst for last. Although she's the same height as the ToyBiz females, poor Emma here seems to have become anorexic. She's probably about half the size as ToyBiz females and her head is TINY.

Annihilus: As somebody mentioned above, mine is most definitely PINK!!! WTF??? Other than that he's pretty cool. Also as mentioned above, he's smaller than the ToyBiz BAF's, but to me that's alright. I like that he's in the correct scale. He shouldn't be the size of Galactus, Giant Man or a Sentinel. But that's just my opinion.

The ones with silver arm or with green arm?

Yeah the silver arm is the Planet Hulk variant.
As for the Ultimate Iron Man variant....thanks Hasbro.
After finally getting them all for the BAF, I still think Hasbro dropped the ball.
At the very least, no longer including the comic is a huge loss. Comic companies are hurting to pull in new readers/collectors. The comic included with the toy was a great way to reach the kids who are picking these up. Now, nothing. So, no comic, lower quality = higher price?

I'm just glad to see the Toyfare announcement about ToyBiz ( now Marvel Toys ) is putting out their new line. The Pitt BAF looks awesome and the series looks to have a ton of potential.

and i found the hercues, but dont like the orange tint he has...so i did not pick him up either...

Now this new line of marvel Legends by Hasbro is a big disappointment... I saw Emma & Banshee; they just looked HORRIBLE

I also saw saw the Beast ... which did look quite good... but i never like the movie version

Hasbro needs to step it up.... Big Time

I just noticed that Wizard ran an online poll about the first set.
The numbers show a real lack of interest. On a yes, no, and maybe choice, Ultimate Iron Man got the most yes votes at 49.8%, and Hercules at 41.4%.

Here's the results. (http://www.wizarduniverse.com/magazine/toyfare/003115645.cfm)

Hopefully, Hasbro takes note of this.

According to Jesse Falcon from Toybiz, The new Hasbro legends were sculpted by Toybiz, not Hasbro. When Hasbro took over the Marvel license,Toy biz supplied the figures for at least the first 2 waves. We wont even see the actual Hasbro sculpted figures until wave 3 or 4. I have a feeling they are going to be AWESOME! :buttrock:

Jesse also said that Toy biz were going to do away with including comics in the package as well.

I got all the new Legends and I really like them. The quality is great! I love the 'clicky' joints and the plastic is real cool. The figures feel very strong to me. I also LOVE the new packaging. I can pop out a figure in 5 seconds.

Great info, John! Ha, I knew folks were jumping the gun in judging Hasbro. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Hasbro does with the Legends line. I don't collect all them, but I've bought the characters I like best: Banshee, Colossus, both X-23s, both Visions, the compiled Sentinel (which is completely awesome). I'm hoping for a Mysterio done proper someday and not the skinny Spidey line one that was released a while back. I was a Mego nut when I was a kid, and I almost envy my second-grade nephew who LOVES all the Marvel figures.

Like you, John, I like being able to get a figure out of its container in less than two minutes. Sometime, I felt like I needed a blowtorch to get the Toybix Legends out.

Ryche, do you go to the Marvel section at Fwoosh.net? Thats where Jesse Falcon of Toybiz has a question and answer thread and he says Toybiz sculpted the first 2 waves of the Hasbro Marvel Legends. Not sure about the 3rd wave though. You can get alot of great info from him regarding the Hasbro Legends line but nothing character specific. He was brought on board to Hasbro to help with the transition and some of Toybiz sculptors are working on the new Hasbro legends line. He said that the actual new Hasbro line doesnt emerge until wave 3 or 4 I believe. I have high hopes for them.

I dont think thats too exciting of a list for the ICONS actually.

Colossus sounds good, but I would much rather have seen:

Juggernaut
Hawkeye
Vision
Taskmaster
Sabretooth
Omega Red

And it is sad to see true ASSORTMENTS of heroes in each wave go away...

The FF line that Toybiz had should continue and Spidey has a line.

I'd much rather see true "legends" that would probably NEVER see the light of day get created in the line. Such as Black Bolt, Valkyrie, Black Knight, Nova (Richard Rider), or Nighthawk, and even take a chance on Ronin, some Newer X Men, etc.

The BAF for the FF series should have been the WATCHER. That's a no brainer

Hasbro is dropping the ball! (and RAISING the prices!)

Why am I called a hater just for speaking validated opinions? If you guys keep accepting these sub par figures, they will keep making them. Given the ICON character selectionm what is there to be impressed about? The appeal of the Legends line was the wide variety it provided. The new lines are not packed with variety at all. From a business standpoint they are shooting themselves in the foot. IF you dont like the FF or Spiderman, you wont be buying ML's for quite some time. Why divide your audience?

The ICONS line up was designed to give us larger versions of the most popular ML pieces.

Wolverine - pretty basic, and a decent figure. The arm hair paint looks pretty cheesy though...
Thor - Very poorly done (as everyone knows my point of view on this by now:) )

Dr. Doom - Looking forward to seeing this. The jury is out on the cloth cape look.
Punisher - Why is this an ICON? pretty basic figure. Hard to screw him up unless they treat a 5 0'clock shadow like the Wolverine arm hair.

Human Torch - Havent we been FF'd to death already? There have been all kinds of FF figures lately. Do we REALLY need MORE when there are other characters dying to be made. I predict these will be sitting on shelves for quite awhile.
Silver Surfer - ALWAYS a good choice. Pretty hard to screw up a one color character. Articulation will make or break this.

Cyclops- but WHICH Cyclops? He is Icon worthy, no doubt.
Magneto - Again, Icon Worthy. Nice to see the X MEN represented int he ICONS line with these two (the previous Beast was an Avenger:) )

Daredevil - Ho-Hum....Nothing too exciting here...
Phoenix - Oh boy. Are females sculpts REALLY a good idea? I predict a poor sculpt. Just look at Emma.

Colossus - IMO the BEST choice for ICON status on this list! Looking forward to seeing it.
Nightcrawler - 2nd best. P hope like crazy they are sticking with the Coc.krum costume.

Human Torch ??? variant? Mid transformation? huh?
Daredevil ?? Variant? Yellow? Armored? Neither are called for.
Phoenix ?? Variant? Dark Phoenix? AGAIN? ugh!

I stand by my earlier statement. Give us the BEST selling ML's in Icon form.
Hawkeye, Juggernaut, Vision, Colossus, Sabretooth, Apocalypse, etc. Put some thought into the line up. They KNOW all the ML fans have high expectations.

Whoah, I didn't mean to offend you, Ryche! I noted that you sound like a hater because you're judging Icon figures you haven't even seen yet, and it seems you're judging the Icon list based on your opinions of the recently released ML line. Opinions on yet-unseen figures (with the exception of Wolverine, Thor and if any other the others have been released) can't be validated IMO.

Again, I say the released list for Marvel Icons contains nothing but icons. Every one of the characters have appeared in movies (with the exception of Thor), and, from a business standpoint, producing the best-known characters makes perfect sense. Let's see what they look like.

As far as the Marvel Legends line goes, sure the first wave under Hasbro hasn't been among the best of Toy Biz's efforts. But I believe better things are down line when the new sculpts under Hasbro are seen.

Why am I called a hater just for speaking validated opinions? If you guys keep accepting these sub par figures, they will keep making them.

It'll be a great, great day at my house if they ever make a Vision Icon figure. But I may be wishing in vain. :(

The next wave comes out in May, I believe. Regardless, I'm going to pick these two up:

Even though I HATED that Xorn turned out to be Magneto (or did he??? That was some convoluted stuff), I loved the Xorn character up until that point. And I just think the Quicksilver figure looks cool. :)

Ugghh...Xorn, Beak, and his GF Angel are three of the biggest reasons I hated Morrison's X-Men.

Back to the toys...for our store at least, the Hasbro figures actually seem to be selling better than the Toybiz line. Considering the higher price point, smaller scale, and some pretty iffy sculpts, I was pretty surprised by this. Is it true in other parts of the country?

Well at stores around here the are slowly starting to warm the pegs. Especially Banshee.

As for series 2,I'll wait till I see them in person.

Not that i REALLY want them anyway (id hgave to buy a whole set to get teh 20$ price)

I've seen these at my Target. I don't really like em... The packaging, the sculpts, bleh... I'm sure if I'd buy a character I really dug but certainly won't just snap em up the way i might have a few years ago. White Queen looks particularly bad to me...

SO, the Annihilus series is all over the United states at this point, and we have seen previews of all the Blob series pieces....(that are rumored to be Toybiz sculpts mind you)

I ask you.....Where are the sneaks of the NEXT wave of ML figures...the ones that are rumored to be the FIRST WAVE of actual Hasbro sculpts? Toyfair came and went...no new Marvel Legends on display by Hasbro????

Something is fishy!
