Update on PRIDE-WWE meeting

According to Vince McMahon, Chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment, Friday’s meetings between PRIDE and WWE were cordial and informative. The two companies met to discuss potential opportunities. With the exception of continuing dialogue, no definite steps were taken.

PRIDE is considered to be the leader in the global Mixed Martial Arts market. In addition, PRIDE has a popular professional wrestling promotion in Japan called HUSTLE. The promotion will soon be running an event known as Hustlemania.

an arrangement like this is talked about every few years.

Nothing has YET to come of any discussion like this.

I would take this MORE seriously than ever now due to WWE PPV's doing so poorly, and UFC ppv's doing so well.

Its all about the $$$$

the biggest problem Pride is having right now is TV revenue. if they can pull something off, so be it. but i recommend them staying in Asia. the US Sanctioning Bodies would require too many tweaks to their current system and would water it down. take a look at the rule changes for the Vegas Feb.24th show.
