I knew jim lee was going to be doing All-Star batman but had no Idea that frank miller would be writing. I still don't understand what they are trying to do with this book though. I've heard they are supposed to be Pre-Crisis stories as the robin in this book will be **** Grason.

No, if you read the article in the link you'll see it's not pre-Crisis or anything. They're making new stories of the iconic versions of these characters but set in today's time. It's like a different universe from their flagship mainstream titles only it's not being billed that way. So, Robin is D. Grayson and Superman's not married to Lois. The idea is to bring in readers who know the iconic characters, but not much more than that.

Yeah, happened to me when I posted about **** Giordano (see?) completing the "Stoker's Dracula" project with Roy Thomas. Dumb computer intelligence if pretty funny sometimes!

I like how they said it wasn't meant to be like the "ultimate" line in Marvel but let's face it... It kinda is... that's okay for Miller and Lee though. More Lee Batman!!!

Jeph Loeb was supposed to do this book. he's having problems with DC....this just confirms some other things i've been hearing. get ready for some big surprises. especially who signs with who in the next few weeks. BTW, Frank Miller is a great comic creator, but do u honestly think this All Ages, Ultimate version is going to cater to the kind of stories we've come to expect and enjoy from Miller.....probably not, unless the plot's already been laid out by another writer.....hmmm. food for thought.

So are you trying to say that since they didn't get Loeb, they decided to "slum it" and get Frank Miller??

Miller just did DK2 a few years ago and it was horrible. I hope he doesn't stink iti up again with this one. Either way the art will be pretty!

Ouch.

One bomb compared to the amazing body of work & Miller bashing?!?

Agreed DK2...bad (but I still own it).

I think Miller could bring a lot to the table. I also think the fans will follow.

DK was horrible, and the last few Sin City series were medicore. Spawn/Batman was a joke. Miller's last few years have been so-so. Just like Byrne, Wolfman and Claremont, in their prime they defined the characters they worked on now, they just seem to be earning paychecks.

I'm not saying Miller is going to suck on the new Bat title, it deserves a chance. Man without fear was great, and that was 1993. I'm just saying giving the quality of his recent work one has reason to be skeptical.

Then again Miller did redefine comics in the '80's with the Dark Knight and Batman Year one, and did lay that groundwork in his Daredevil work. I guess that's why he still deserves a chance.

For me, too, Spidey. Jim Lee's a great artist, but Frank Miller is the consumate creator and, stylistically, he's far more unique and interesting than Jim Lee even in his drawing.
