It will be at least two weeks till I pick up the latest batch of comics and get my hands on the The New Avengers.

What’s the new line up?

Well the Avengers are on issue 2 and the team has not been formed yet. So far the following hereos have made appearances. Spider-Woman, Spiderman, Captain America, Luke Cage, Ironman, Sentry, and Daredevil.

The team should include all of these members, including Wolverine who has not appeared yet, with the exception of Daredevil. There is a ninja character on one of the covers that has not made an appearance as of yet. There has been speculation that it is either Daredevil, Ironfist, or Moonknight.

On the back letters page of Ish #2--he claims that Wolverine is not and will not be an Avenger--despite the fact that he is prominently pictured on the covers. So who knows??

Nay Yorick, I remember thumbing through this ish at the comic store and I was reading the Letters page (couldn't get enough of people writing in to say how HORRIBLE the new team was) and they kept saying something like "Wolverine has never been an Avenger in the past" rather than "Wolverine is not an Avenger" which means clearly, they're going to throw him in with the team for the first time ever.

Could be wrong, but I think I remember reading something like that nearly word for world.

Actually Yorick that is kind of a joke because the guy is complaining that Wolverine is an Avenger. Bendis says he's not an Avenger. That's because he has not shown up yet. So the guy is bit ching about it before it happens so, Bendis is like yeah he's not an Avenger. But he will be next issue.

Spider-Man! I cannot see him being with the team long as he is not really a team player, although he was temporally a member before.

I actually think Spider-man is a great addition to the Avengers team, and I sincerely dislike the new Avengers more than just about everything (except the Ultimate Universe).

I think Spidey is a shoe in as a great team player (even though he usually goes solo) and Spidey is unlike other widely used heroes (i.e. Wolverine) in that he does not have committments to any other teams. Wolverine is in like 10 books and 4 X-Men teams and now is also Avenger - thus a continuity problem here can be argued. Spidey has no teams he belongs to and this being his only one, makes him the same as any other big name character that has his own series yet still belongs to a team.

I think Spidey is Bendis's ONE good move so far.

Oh well.

I for one hand it the team for printing the naysayer letters, instead of filling the page with immature ramblings about how they love the Avengers, they fill it with even MORE immature letters of how Bendis has ruined their life for altering a COMIC BOOK PEOPLE!! Who cares who is in the Avengers as long as there are good stories unlike before Bendis came on board...Plus I think it makes for a MUCH more interesting tale of a group of people who have not worked together before, to see Cap try to bring them together will be classic! Hey even Marvelboi was a naysayer at first and has tempered that so far, since the book has been good through 2 issues.

Hey I was never a Naysayer about the new team. I just did not like Avengers disasembled storyline. The could turn Luke Cage White and Make Captain America get breats inplants, I don't give a damn. He brought back Spider-Woman, I love Bendis

Wasn’t saying I do not like Spidey on the team just wondered how it would work out if there were to be any continuity with his own title since a lot of his plots involve personal life, rather than gallivanting across the cosmos.
I hope he stays in the team a long time and could bring out a lot of fun with the other members.

Wolverine being an avenger is so wrong and so stupid on so many levels, that it's not worth commenting on.
ANd neither should Spider-man be an Avenger. so far this line up is disastrous.

I hate Bendis or Millar or whoever is doing this crap. They should just stick to the Ultimate crap

I just picked up issues 1 and 2 at weekend and read them. I cannot say I was over thrilled with them, once again we have a mysterious figure behind the scenes, and the story over 2 issues when nowhere fast in fact I was surprised when I got to the last pages as I though there should have been a lot more.
