View Full Version : Recommendations for a Centerpiece

Alright, I was looking at my relatively small statue collection and thought to myself "I need that one piece that would immediately draw attention the moment someone comes into the room." I already have some Star Wars PF's, the Jaws Maquette, & a Master Replicas Kermit.

After some sole searching, I placed an order for the CM T-850 through Toynk. However, due to issues beyond my control, I was unable to obtain him (company tried to price gauge me, which I wouldn't allow even though they still wanted to offer a decent price). So now, I have an empty shelf and I'm trying to think of something that can become the absolute centerpiece in my collection.

It seems like a snowball effect lately after trying to order the CM T-850, as the Yoda bust sold out (that was my next option). I went back to my comic book shop to pick up the Hulk PF as a solution, but somebody bought it. My wife felt bad about the T-850 transaction and surprised me with that Hellboy PF I've been going back and forth on for $129. So now, I'm trying to think and get advice on what piece I should add as that "absolute centerpiece" or just a simple addition on a statue that doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg (but a very nice overall statue). I've got an empty display cabinet ready to be filled.

Any recommendations for statues to add??

Your collection seems to be based around movies. I would wait and try and order the Indiana Jones cineamaquette as your centrepiece or by your avatar Captain Jack Sparrow cineamaquette.

I would go for a 1:1 bust to draw the most attention.

Yeah, no doubt. The Sparrow CM is unreal and will put that 850 to shame when it's released. If I was looking for a statue with a budget like that, I'd definitely wait for the Sarrow or Indy. Nice deal on that Hellboy BTW:thumbs2:

I agree about Sparrow but he said that he doesn't want a statue that would cost an arm and a leg so ...how about getting the Hulk anyway. Do it before it's too late because I see the price going up on that one really soon.

Well, when searching for the "absolute centerpiece" you might have to spend an arm and a leg..Just sayin. Besides, knowing CM, he's got PLENTY of time to save.

I did not pick a Marvel piece because the pieces he has in his/her collection appear to be movie bases. If you want a Marvel piece then the Hulk would be great or even the upcoming Captain America. If you want to chase a grail then you cannot go wrong with the Doom.

Very true. Jack would be one hell of a centerpiece...start saving Depp because it will be worth it. Jack might even be my first CM if I can find a way to afford it.

I concur, either will make an incredible centre piece.

My collection is very movie based but I don't mind deviating into something else. The CM's are really nice and I'd probably buy the CM Jack for obvious reasons, but at the price they were looking at was too expensive.

The CM T-850 was a great deal at what I ordered it for. But the online company tried to up the price on the statue by over $100 citing that they would lose money by offering the discount at what I ordered it for. So, it looks like purchasing CM's are on the back burner for now unless another deal comes up. I don't mind ponying up for something great to add to my collection, but anything over $1000 I think is a no-go.

The Sideshow 1/4 Queen bust is very nice and can be found around $600 now on Ebay (retail over $900).

This is good advice. Or if you are into Scarface, maybe the Sideshow 1:1 Scarface bust (waiting list now), but it is $400, I think.

I have most SS busts, or had them at some point. To me the Predator is the best if you want a 1:1 Bust. Maul 1:1 looks awesome too, love mine.

For statues, CM Alien will be a awesome centerpiece and it looks GORGEOUS.
For replicas, MR Millenium Falcon is just out of this World. Just got it the other day and it's already one of my very faves. It's just AMAZING!

As far as 1:1 busts go, for me its a tough call between the Predator and Alien warrior, both have great detail and excellent paint apps and as cap has already stated Maul is pretty awesome too. You can`t go wrong with any of these.

OMFG that looks AWSOME El Diablo !!! Fantastic setup.

To be ontopic - I would waith till the new Alien is released think it's a great statue and will be the eyecatcher of everyones collection.

These are surely 4 centerpieces for every collection!!!!!
But I love also the CM statues!!!...I have 4 CM statues:Alien/T-800/Tx/T-850 and these are the incredible pieces!!!...I LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...and I'll buy surely Aragorn and Jack Sparrow!!!
