Cool - The only one I've seen is Cagliostro and I really enjoyed it. More of an action/humor film, loads of fun!

You will like SF2 movie a lot, the animation is great and lots of kick ass music. Story is great too, and has some good humor to it also.

If you ever deicide to pick up the SF2 V series, its slow in the begining and gets better at the end. Good series if you can find it cheap, i got the whole series for a manga booth at WWphily for $35.

Manga had a booth there and was clearing out cheap DVDs. I saw the SF2 V complete set and asked how much, guy said $50 and i said to much. Then he dropped it down to 35.

Was a kewl booth too, cheap DVDs and got to see a ton of previews that were coming out. They were there two years ago, and dont remember if they where there last year or not.

I do know that WWPhilly got hit hard last year with bootleg DVDs, and tons of sellers got hit hard with fines etc..... So might not see any bootleg guys there this year.

Castle of Cagliostro sounds like a Lupin the III movie to me...

But never really get into Lupin the III shows, watch the TV series occasionally but that's about it, can't really stand his monkey-resemblance face.

Yep, Cagliostro is a Lupin movie - IMO the best one. I think one of the charms is his funny looks :)

Lupin was one of my favorite shows. Castle was the best of the movies. most of the original season(green jacket) was done by the Studio Ghibli man himself, Miyazaki. it's a cool little fact, like Jack Kirby doing the in-betweens for the original Popeye shorts.

also, monkey face was probably intentional..the original artist went by the name of Monkey Punch.

Huh? can some other members share some light cause if you just google Black Lagoon its out in 2006. Am pretty sure there are only 2 series of the anime. Got the DVD from local Anime/ Manga shop. My favourite character is Eda apart from Levi. Total bad A** chic in nun costume.

Just completed watching Coyote Ragtime Show. Also reccomended. Interesting storyline where a fine lady police officer hunting a group of bandits on a long lost bank robbery loot. Problem is that there is another group of female bandits are after it too.

now I might know what's going on ...
I was goona say... this 2nd season of Black Lagoon just finished a little while back in Japan. There is no way those slackers anime agents could catch up this fast.

I was talking about the offical licensed version DVD released by proper agent,
most of the time with better resolution and voice quility

since I didn't see it for myself, so I'm not 100% sure...
but what you get might be the Hong Kong bootleg copy. Not that I have anything againest it, since it's always faster and cheaper :thumbs2:

by the way, all my local anime shops are gone ... :bawling:
there used to be 2 around, but all went out of business...

I guess its a bootleg version of some sort. Heck its original and not some pirated version. No wonder its so much cheaper.

I've only watched the first few episodes so far, but I like it. Basically these 2 guys have a huge bar tab that they are working off by contracting themselves to recover things that have been stolen.

It was like that at first, pretty simple setting blended with some funny stuff.
But let me tell ya it'll get pretty serious and complicated real soon with the appearance of new characters and missions.

Get Backers gives me a feeling of HunterXHunter, everything was very simple and seems worth a look till the new characters reveals new plots and craps...

At any rate, enjoy!

Whats the Ultimate version?

the original was a half season TV series, with a relatively small budget. the Ultimate series is direct to DVD OVA, which allows for a better budget and longer production time. It's a completely reanimated version of the same Manga. The pacing is actually closer to the manga, and the violence is turned up a notch. There are currently 3 volumes of the Ultimate realease in Japan, each is about 45 minutes. It's the same story, a bit more condensed, but there are a lot of elements i felt were missing from the original TV series, especially Sera Victoria's inner battles and relationship with Alucard.

worth a look.

I just finished the fourth disc of Get Backers last night. The first 2 discs seem to be intended to establish their world and introduce the characters. At the start of the third disc, most of the major characters have to team up for a job and go into the Limitless Fortress. All of discs three and four are part of the same story arc, and it's continuing onto disc 5. That's 10+ episodes so far.
