Is this to scale with the Batman Hush and new Superman statues?

Anyone at the cons recently see this upclose?

I saw the Superman "Hush" and the WW statue. I'd say they were in the same scale.

I thought the wonder woman was a little bigger but that was a while back now.

The Wonder Woman herself is around the same size as batman. But the base is bigger because of the 2 headed monster.

I saw the new WW statue at my LCS yesterday and it doens't look in the same scale as the others (seems a bit larger) in any event, I thought it was a lousy sculpt only created for the T&A factor, so it wno't be joining my collection.

it is so in the same scale as the other's how can you say that thats a great statue , she isn't larger than the other's

I said it "SEEMS" larger not that it "IS' larger, and I COMPLETELY stand by my comment that it's a LOUSY sculpt made solely for the T & A factor!

I LONG AGO left behind the need for super-heroines with basketball sized boobs that are so RIDICULOUSLY out of proportion. While it may appeal to some, it most certainly doesn't appeal to me !!

Diana isn't a pornstar she's an icon, and frankly, that statue is an insult to the charactor! :thumbsdow

http://x-worldcomics.com/YourVirtualStore/images/content/wwdcstatue.jpg Now THIS is a statue that does justice to the charactor! Powerful, graceful and most importantly ELEGANT in it's simplicity !!

We obviously have two totally different opinions on what makes a good statue, but hey, it's a free country and you can buy what you like. But personally, if I want T & A, I'd rather look to Playboy, Penthouse or Hustler, not Marvel or DC Comics.

This piece doesn't come close to representing the charactor I've known, loved and grown up with for 35+ years.

Like The Wonder Woman Show Wasn't About T & A What The Hell Were You Watching Lol

Jesse321
09-23-2004, 07:48 PM
And what show were you watching? At least Lynda Carter's boobs never hung out like the ones on that statue, the armor is so low he might as well have just added nipples to it! As a matter of fact the boobs look totally off because the nipples would be exposed unless they were UNDER her breasts!

I have to agree with Jesse321 that I don't like how big or visible WW's boobs are.----I can't believe I actually typed that...boy, I have been married too long. I think the sculpt is good but it is not the WW that I want to display...it is, however, the WW I would like to come home to each evening. :)

I also agree with Jesse that the Bolland WW he posted a pic of is the BEST statue of that character or any character...it is a truly beautiful statue...one of my favorites. Interestingly, I believe Tim Bruckner sculpted both statues

I'm sorry but some of you are just flat out wrong . This is the most beautiful Wonder Woman Statue ever!!!. It makes the last one (which I almost bought) look like a cheap toy(and the detail on it sucked). The detail on this statue is amazing ! and the paints selected just set the piece off. Every other Wonder Woman piece pales in comparison next to the new statue, they are all just static and boaring. This one shows the amazon princess as she should be ,Kicking Ass!!!! :thumbs2:

Spiderman, no one is "flat out wrong" we just have differing opinions.

If this statue appeals to you buy it, but just because it doesn't appeal to everyone, doesn't make anyone "flat out wrong". As far as I'm concerned, I still say it's T & A crap, and nothing anyone says will change my opinon of it, just like nothing I say will change anyone elses opinion if they like it.

Jeese Do You Own Any Of The Bowen Fullsize Woman Statues You Could Say They Are T&a Also

Wonder Woman may be the one character with the most successful track record when it comes to sculpts. With the exception of some of the maquettes (WB, DCD, etc) all of the statues - Devito, Bolland, Hughes et al - as well as the busts and waterglobles, have a big following. I own all the statues and each has its merits. You cannot say the same for Superman, Wolverine, Batman or Spiderman.

I saw it and I just don't really like it. Now if they made one to go with the Lee statues... I'd prob still not buy it cause I don't like her.

Jeese Do You Own Any Of The Bowen Fullsize Woman Statues You Could Say They Are T&a AlsoActually, I own Black Widow, Elektra, Storm and both Phoenix full size, despite the fact that all have abundant (though anatomically plausable) features, I don't consider any of them T & A statues, because they are all accurate representations of the charactors, none of them have watermelon size knockers that are more than 7/8's hanging out of a thier costumes. And more importantly, thier costumes are actually correctly represented, unlike the bustier on this WW piece.

The only Bowen that would consider coming close to being T & A, is the Black Cat Mini Bust, but even that is at least accurate to the charactor.

If you can't see the difference, with all due respect giro, you need to have your eyes checked.

Your starting to make as much sense as CK13. :rolleyes2That's REALLY scary !!

Now if they made one to go with the Lee statues Honestly, I don't doubt that a Jim Lee WW is very far off, and it can't possibly be any worse than this one.

That is the second dc direct wonder woman statue based on Bolland's work. The first one was Joe Devito's (flying) and the third one is Hughes (hydra)

I disagree that the Hughes based WW is T&A. Sure she has big breasts but does that mean that every female sculpt where the sculpt has big breasts is T&A I think not. More produces alot of T&A pieces including the Emma Frost and Black Cat pieces for DST. These are far more out there than Bruckners WW which is athletic. I have heard more complaints about her muscular legs than her breasts all of which i think are exaggerated. Its a damn fine sculpt and one of my favourite pieces. Along with Spider-man, Wonder Woman is my absolute favourite and this in IMO does not disgrace her.

while the wonder woman fighting the 2 sperpants is nice, I have to agree with jesse this is the best wonder woman statue out. IT stays true to the character and portrys her with elegance, beauty and strength.
This is a classic stance similiar to bowen but with one major difference, the spears and shield make it stand out so it's not just another standing statue.

Was the Bolland version expensive? Whats this going for nowadays?

Darth_Ryan
10-02-2006, 04:49 PM
around $300 i think. I got mine around that price. The one with the serpents is much expensive now I believe. I got mine at an auction so it was a steal. LOL. As for the de vito version you could still get it under $100.

It's a mini-statue only right? DCD only lists a mini-statue on their site standing at only 6" tall. I thought there was a "fullsize" version.

I like all the WW statues and think the respective artists/sculpters have done well with her...a little variation is a good thing.

My little girl was born 2 months early at 2.5 pounds and fought for every breath. Since that day she has been my "Wonder Woman" and I've bought every WW piece for her since then. Maybe I'm overcompensating...but keep 'em coming! :)

Thx for pointing that out, now its no longer in my perfect statue list  . Anyway, it still remains as my favourite WW statue. I've always have this principle against collecting heroine statue until I saw this. Might be the first heroine statue I’m getting. Btw, what's T&A?

Really? One of the best thing about this statue is her legs. It makes her look like one of those fitness models. :thumbs2: When is the full size version coming out? Can't find any on ebay.

Was sculpted by Joe DeVito. Came out on 1995 I think. Correct me if I'm wrong.
