This has been the year of upsets. Cro Cop will learn from this and come back with a vengence I'm sure. He still has 4 fights left on his UFC contract.

I watched this with our entire fight team and the room erupted when he landed that kick. Amazing. It looked like he was getting the best of the ground and pound also.

that knee and ankle could be injured badly. i pray he didn't tear a ligament cuz he'll never be the same after a torn ligament if plan on doing those fierce kiks. i for one was pissed that he got knocked the fuk out.

I was shocked to see him get and walk out on his own, His knee and ankle looked totally jacked.
Randy's going to have his work cut out for him.

Desert Dogs from Bend, Oregon and also Alliance Jiu Jitsu here in Boise. CC'S ankle and knee must have some kind of damage. Very scary knock out. These high kicks are becoming more common in fights lately.

Just got the scoop from mmaweekly.com
Just one day after his shocking loss, Mirko returned to Zagreb, Croatia. Upon his arrival, Mirko spoke with Hrvatski Sportski about his unfortunate loss. “I got what I deserved after a performance like this,” said the Pride Open Weight Grand Prix Champion. “That seems to be the cross I’m carrying. I fall down every once in a while and I don’t know why. I’ve been through two times of crisis. Against [Kevin] Randleman, I came back; against Fedor [Emelianenko], I came back. I’ll come back after this. It’s part of my career.”
The knockout loss was the most devastating in the Croatian star’s career. After such a defeat, some fans wondered if “Cro Cop” would continue fighting. “Of course I will finish my [UFC] contract,” responded Mirko. “I have 4 fights left.”
When Gonzaga landed the right high kick, Mirko fell to mat, landing awkwardly on his right leg. According to Nokaut.com, Mirko’s ankle remains swollen and does give him some discomfort. He is expected to have an exam on Tuesday to further diagnose the injury.
With the win, Gabriel Gonzaga earned a shot at Randy Couture’s heavyweight belt.

Those legs are super flexible because that was suppose to be a stretcher job, no human is suppose to walk after that fold and twist on his knee and ankle. I was squinting just looking at the slo mos, I think Randys going to have a hell of a time figuring out this guy who now gets a title shot, I was very impressed with his standup and his ground game seems to be very well rounded, I see a real superstar in the making, he just blew Arlovski right out of the contention picture.

arlovski who? lol
i was a big arlovski fan when he was destroying people,,,but his last few fights have been dissapointing just like tim sylvias...they play it safe it seems...and in this sport you cant play it safe....arlovski has so much potential....
and i agree with you about gonzaga he looks like hes gonna be an animal in the heavyweight division...we shall see! im looking foward to ramapage vs iceman....im thinking rampage is gonna whoop him again...

I'm not a big fan of fighters who fight not to lose like big Timmy. Fight to win and don't hold anything back!
Wow! That was a heckuva kick!
http://youtube.com/watch?v=b4oH5ZU_p1I
I know it isn't in their nature, but I'd sure think more of the winner if they
acted a bit reserved and restrained, and showed some concern for the
fellow they knocked out in case they were injured. This crap of mugging for
the camera and doing a "hulk out" I'm-a-bad-@$$ pose just seems immature.
That ankle and knee angle made me cringe, and I hope there is no joint damage.

Saw the fight, saw the right kick to the head, and then what the hell happened to cro cop's leg?
I don't know what hurt more, kicked in the head or watching the guy's leg fold underneath him?
Good luck on his recovery, looking forward to his next fight.

That's a top notch facility over there, with the best instructors anywhere. Our grand opening is may 12th. Alexandre Paiva will be coming down to kick it off for us. Our new place is about a third of the size of the one over there. I'm very jealous of the culture you guys have. We are looking to springboard a similar culture over here.
I'm never happy to hear about someone your size learning Jiu jitsu from the best around. Strength , size and good jiu jitsu is a very dangerous combination. I would like to look up your acadamy if I'm ever in ATL.
I'll send you pics from the grand opening.
Yours in strength
Matt
