No we still have not gotten the final word our license being renewed. Let's just say we're hopeful...

OK- so let's say we are successfull with the renewal. What are your top 12 statues and busts that you'd like to see happen? I'm even open to re-doing full sized statues (characters) that have already been sculpted. Just tell me what you want.

Keep in mind - finishing off various super groups and companion pieces.
Hopefully the mods may be able to put this into a format that is more comprehensive when all is said and done.

By the way- my goal is to sculpt as many of PIII the statues myself. Not that I don't like working with the sculptors that I've used on Phaze II, it's just that: Hey this is still fun for me! If I can at all manage it, I'll do it.

We're pretty much finished with all the statues and busts for Phaze II (Don't ask which ones). That means if the deal happens soon, I'll have a lot of lead time to work on these myself.

1. Doctor Strange - Let's face it, if you are featured in Origins and were created by Ditko, you need a FS...
2. Rhino- Just because the MB is so damn nice...

Mini Bust:
1. Jack of Hearts-A personal fave who I believe will be done but cost upwards of $75 because of costs associated with painting, or he is the first "head only" bust.
2. Hellcat-There is less support for her lately but she was an Avenger and is a key Defender. Plus my long lobbied for Cat-variant could happen.
3. Nighthawk-Kyle is just perfect for a Bowen MB. Completely obscure yet striking visually. He passes the Slurpee cup litmus test and is necessary for the defenders...
4. Valkyrie - Just to complete the Defenders... Plus she's hot!
5. Johnny Blaze GR- I know we have the incredible full-size and should be happy with that but we need to replace the biggest mistake BD ever made that damn Danny Whatever GR. Plus he completes the Champions. For both people who want to complete the Champions.
6. Man-Wolf-Because he's cool! Remember when astronauts wore Yellow and Green spacesuits? And the government let them keep mysterious red stones they found on the moon? Oh yeah, you do...
7. The Gladiator - No, not the mohawk wearing freak. The visually striking buzzsaw wielding bad guy for DD. DD needs villians!
8. Banshee - The x-men of the late 70s and early 80s can never be complete without this aging Irishman. Forget Thunderbird, Banshee was a staple for 20+ issues before he lost his voice...
9. Wasp- Her only representation CAN'T be that half inch piece on Giant-man.
10. Clea - Because the Doctor needs someone to talk too...
Well that's my list... I'd love the Prowler or Impossible Man too but they are on the obscure side...

Most of these lists are so long, that I can't even figure which characters are leading the way for a phase 3 sculpt. Before this becomes even more of a clutter, wouldn't it be best if we created a FS and MB thread and everyone should be asked to place maybe 3 (or 1) nominations? The mods could then compile this data and see which are the top 12 vote getters for each category. I think this is what RB was asking for in the first place, not so much that he wanted everyone to post their Christmas list. :wink2:

First off, while a lot of the sculptors on the boards are working on some extremely cool pieces and kits (and they have my full support), I wouldn't recommend just picking up those unless you really feel they fit into the overall product line, scale, style and vision (John C's Spiderman comes to mind, and it is awesome). It's be great for you, the master, to first take on a few of your favorites, and also give Ray V., Erick S., The Snyders, the K. Bros. a shot at taking on some additional projects b/c we'd like to see more great work coming out of them.

That said here is our list.

Yellowjacket/Wasp -- 20' scale kneeling Yellowjacket with 3"-4" modern Wasp (retro versions for the fans) helps complete core Avengers. I think that's a Randy or Ray V. project.
Dr. Strange -- just a popular character, even though not one of my tops but sure piece would be great. I think Erick is your guy for that.
Archangel (purple/blue costume) -- Okay, I commissioned an Angel & Archangel that are fantastic, but he's my son's favorite. That should be a Randy Bowen piece or a K. Bros (change-o head or varient)
Beast -- how about having him doing a one-hand upside down handstand. The K. Bros.
Rogue -- to go with Gambit - Erick S.
Psylocke - to go with Archangel - Ray V.

There are some great suggestions here. I am sure I will buy a few FS based on the final sculpts, but I have only two real wants.

1) Valkrie - Based on the non-Bowen Magdelena FS, I am convinced a FS Valkrie would be one heck of an impressive sculpt. Remember - chicks with a sword AND a spear are just plain cool!

I like the suggestions for western characters. That would be truly cool to go along with OGR. One of my old suggestions that I forgot about is Whirlwind in his semi-ridiculous giant green metal helmet with no shirt costume... The Porcupine would go nicely with Ant-Man as a silver age villian plus the problem in finding one with intact quills would drive the secondary market, "a run of 3000, 28 of which are unbroken..." :laugh:

I'm down with some resculpts but this whole thing you propose with similar bases and nameplate letters would really bite, IMO. Also, if it's about characters that are to expensive on the aftermarket to fill some of you guys' collections, I'd be all for new sculpts of some of those guys; classic Panther, yellow DD, Kirby Hulk, Buscema Thor, etc. But if we're talking about putting these guys all on similar bases I say forget it.

Randy, good luck! I hope this works out for you. One thing you may want to consider is a pre addressed postcard inserted into the boxes for a few mini bust and statues. The person who purchases a bust or statue can write down their suggestions and mail them in. When Horizon was releasing their series of Marvel vinyl model kits they did this (I remember filling out several cards and returning them). While the suggestions offered here are great the whole membership of this board only represents about 20% of potential sales on a 3000 edition mini bust. If you get an extension I hope you can enjoy it. While we appreciated the oppertunity to do some pieces for you, the company is called Bowen Designs for a reason. Hopefully they will give you enough time to do all the pieces you want to sculpt yourself. If you do farm out some sculpts it may behove you to withhold the sculptor's name until everyone has made comments. Once the sculpt is ready to advertise then release the sculptor credit. I think you may save yourself some unneeded grief. My vote shouldn't count, because I don't actually buy or collect mini bust (no room to display the other stuff we have collected over the years), but I think these characters would make striking pieces:

Randy I was working on a very sophisticated system to figure out which statues and bust you should offer next. This system was taking into account factors such as , Character standing in the Marvel U, popularity, costume design, and desirability expressed by Bowenknights. The list would have been a carefull mixture of these answers as you would not want to simply produce the most popular, or the most desireable statues first.

I was working hard,..until I looked at the tally for the responses and realized....,..my list is really no better than the tallies. Though it's true there are some characters on the tally list which I have no interest in,.the same was also true for my list.

The same would be true for any list and for any individual Bowen fan.

Result Randy,...knock yourself out. We want all these guys made eventually.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who submitted a list and then noticed some characters on other people's list that I wish I would've included in my own.

There also seemed to be a little confusion on whether the list should have a total of twelve characters or twelve busts and twelve statues, etc.

Thanks for compiling the list of busts and statues for Randy. After looking at the lists, I would say that you have your work cut for you.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who submitted a list and then noticed some characters on other people's list that I wish I would've included in my own.

There also seemed to be a little confusion on whether the list should have a total of twelve characters or twelve busts and twelve statues, etc.

Do you think a poll of all the characters listed would be feasible? That way, the final list that you send Randy would have a more accurate consensus of the people on this board.

I don't think any sense can be made of this thread in the form of a list when you have people voting for "12 heroes and 12 villians", entire teams taking one slot, people picking more then the allowed 12, etc.

I think it would be better for Randy to just read this thread and get an idea of which characters have support.

I think alleging female forum members (I presume you are one - sorry if not) to be existing male members in disguise is something of a running joke on here. Dana is normally much more of a gentleman.
