Broke down and bought this after debating between it and the GArrow/Aquaman statues Galactus is selling for a friend. It should arrive at my doorstep early next week. If I can find my camera I will post pics of the pieces I got last wknd at WWPhilly.

As I always say, I am not an X-Men fan, but I do like Alpha Flight and this page reminds me of those early Alpha Flight appearances.

I've seen it said many times around here that original art is an addicting. In my case, I know it's true!

I don't know what you are talking about. I can quit collecting original art whenever I want to.:sly2:

 I think I'm in the early stages of my addiction. I'm only buying pieces of my absolute favorite characters. ... But that's probably how it all begins, isn't it? :(

I don't have any published original art of either Vision or Mysterio, but I do have some watercolor commissions that the statueforum's Mark McHaley did for me. I bought Wolverine and Spider-Man pieces from him, too, and they're all incredibly cool. Also, just today, Stuart Sayger agreed to do a Mysterio painting for me, too! Mark's going to pick it up for me at the Chicago convention in August. Life is so good right now :buttrock:

Great page. As someone said in another thread, art first as you can go back and pick up statues.

I started with the $20 and $40 commissions at San Diego back in the 90s. I then moved up to some $100 and $200 pieces. Lately I've been spend on alot more than that.

I was just adding everything up and I've already spent $7600 on comic art this year.:banghead:

On top of that, San Diego is next month.:banghead: :banghead:

Get out while you still can!!!

Get out while you still can!!!

It all starts with the $10-$40 sketches of your favorite character from various artists

Then you get more selective in the artists you choose, meaning $100 -$200 per piece, still your favorite characters

THEN you get to know a few select artists you like, and start to get EVERY character from those artists for god knows how much per piece!!!

It's all down hill from there...:banghead:

I'm almost afraid to go to San Diego now. I've exhausted alot of my "hobby money" but I'm selling some more statues and stuff to raise some funds for more art!:thumbs2:

I plan to generate money by suing Monster and others for sucking me into this aspect of comic collecting.
