Kdawg, don't feel bad when it takes you awhile to finish something. Committments have let up a bit, and I finally got a chance to finish this piece. Been awhile that it's been sitting there staring at me, but at last he's done. Thanx for taking a look!

Makes me want to pop the DVD in and watch the movie again!
For those of you uncultured in the finer classics of Sci-Fi, I highly suggest you watch Forbidden Planet. For 1955 the special effects were pretty good and the story was excellent! It was Star Trek before Star Trek was a gleam in Gene Roddenberry's eye!

Rick, every time I think I might be able to customize a bust I see some more of your work and am thankful that I haven't even started looking for the paint brushes yet.
Nice job

Wow Rick that is just wicked! Looks pearlescent? or is that the lighting? Bullseye hit it right on about the colors. Really pops. Great work!

CB - Sorry I neglected to answer your question...yep, there's a tiny bit of interference green misted over the top of the scales. VERY little, but enough to give it a "pop".
Bowen Maniac - Thanx!!

Rick... I can't even imagine how you plan for a piece like this. There is obviously so many layers and textures going on here. Do you just go by feel??? Keep slapping paint down until each section feels right? OMG I'm just amazed and a half... When you showed this piece before I was in awe, but at this point what is beyond awe.... It is so good I just can't believe it. The sculpt is really cool with the skin texture and relief, but your paints bring out so much more... Boy oh boy Rickalicious, you do NOT disappoint ever... I'm not worthy to post in your world:)

Thanx CK!
Kdawg - Gracias amigo. Something like this requires careful planning......who am I kidding! You hit it right on the head man. It's just fly by wire. It's basically a feel for which colors work best together...something learned over many screw ups. :D

That is an honest answer indeed Rick!!! doesn't take away from the fact that it works incredibly well for you!!!! Mine would look like splatter paint over finger printsa:)
