guess who? :D

i whipped this up in a couple of hours last night. the goal is to eventually have it look like this Neal Adams Batman (http://www.nealadams.com/forsale/framed1.jpg) from the belt upwards. i'll probably leave out the outstretched hand for now though. not quite ready to tackle that yet. it's not much so far, i know and it pretty much sucks. gotta flesh it out a bit more. right now i have half a mind to take off that bat ear and turn this into a Silver Surfer bust! maybe that will be project #2... anyway, just wanted to share. thanks for checking it out!

Hey man that's a good start! Best advice is to rip the ear off and add both at the end:) The biggest trap with a superhero that has such distinguishing features is that you wanna hurry up to sculpt that feature... I do it all the time and uncle Tony Cipriano tells me so:) You have got the basic shapes rockin' in there just keep pressing for the form and voila' Neil Adams:) Keep it up and definitely show us more when you are ready... we'll be waiting:)

hi Kd, yeah i was done sculpting for the night and just wanted to see what it would look like with the ear on. to see if i was anywhere close :D that's why i only did one ear. you are right though i will probably take it off before continuing to work on it, kinda gets in the way. great to have you looking over my shoulder man, thanks for the encouragement! so what's this i hear about you working on a Batman too? :inquisiti

ps. any ideas for the base? i'm drawing a blank.

Isn't this cool??? Everyone that takes up a dental tool gains a ton of appreciation for what it is to be a sculptor.

and squid... I am all about keeping the bases simple on the busts. It could be cool to do just a pillar with the Bat symbol etched in... The sky is your limit here:) Show us more as soon as you can:)

well it's been a while but slow progress is better than no progress, no? :D just pardon the poor pics from my webcam. gonna be attempting the mouth and lower jaw area soon. i'm flying by the seat of my pants here. still haven't completely sussed out how the jaw attaches to the neck and i think the shoulders need to be spread out a bit further. there's hardly space for the traps. whatcha think?
