Why were there only 36 of these produced?

Was this a pre-set number or did they fail to sell out a limited (50?) run and decide to only produce the ones that were actually purchased?

Does the number 36 have any significance in the LOTR mythos?

Do you think they will cut the 50 statue limit short on the Bronze Darth Vader if they don't sell out soon?

Good question...the bronze Darth Vader is taking quite some time to sell out, if it does at all.

If I recall correctly, the bronze Gandalf took some time to sell out (1-2 years). So I wouldn't expect Sideshow to cut the Vader edition size short. It looks like they are already down to 5 pieces or less.

Does anyone here actually own a bronze Gandalf? I would love to see photos.

And to answer the original question, the Gandalf edition size was always 36, though I don't know why that number was chosen.

Did anyone get one of these? Any pictures?
