I wish they had made GTG as the PF and GTW as the LS bust. I'm intersted in seeing what the whole thing looks like, and there's a pretty good chance that I will get this piece.

I just got the kong vs v rex piece, and its kinda hard for alot of my sideshow stuff to upstage that piece.....I think its my new favorite statue!

I think the biggest struggle this piece has is to match the anticipation that has bulit up around it, due to the fact that it has been so long in production.

I think the PF Gandalf is quite cool. Too soon to give a definitive oppinion though.

Lurtz was my first PF and is one of my favourite statues i own. The detail in him is amazing.

I hope the other prototypes come out better than this. I know the pic isn't great, but that likeness looks too cartoony for me, and the beard/hair is pretty poor.

Is this going to be on display at SDCC do you think?

It's funny. Everyone is trash talking this piece right now, but you know as soon as someone gets theirs and posts pics, there is going a be 5 pages of ass kissing and talk of how good everyone thinks it looks. Grant it most of those will be to make the people that did buy it feel good, but still. It's the same story every single time. :rolleyes2

What is so special about the PF lurtz?
I don't have a PF Lurtz. The pose is too boring.The way the mixed media works on this piece is mindblowing, looks as real as it can get. The leathery pieces of the costume together with the metal looking armor all on an extremely detailed polystone body are undescribable - if you havent seen him you have no idea.

As for the pose...well it's right out of the movie, dont know how you would want him to stand but I think it's perfect. Also one of those exclusives that are realy worth it.

IMO Lurtz is one of if not THE best PF to date and Frodo is definitely underrated but I'm not sure about this Gandalf. Don't get me wrong it looks fine but I've always been more of a Gandalf the Gray fan than Gandalf the White. So I'll probably hold out for that one if it ever comes out. Basically these 1/4 scale pieces just take up to much space so I need to start being more selective with my purchases.

The Lurtz PF is amazing! One of the best PF's SS has ever done. Not sold on the Gandalf PF yet, looks OK but certainly isn't a jaw dropper. We need more pictures.

If I remember correctly, you place the bag strap around his feet and carefully raise it up his legs.

i've seen them go from £50-£90... there is one on the uk ebay now... 79.00 BIN... might be a bit dodge though... he has this in the advert:

"The actual box is all white which proves it was one of the first editions before weta brough out the coloured box. The coloured box shown above is to show what the Troll looks like "

yes..but a white box normally means a product boxed before production hense no colour or pictures..a friend had a sam and bill in a white box,where as my s & b had a full colour one.:confused:

i drove to from london to weymouth got a ferry to jersey,came home the same day just to get sam ans oll bill home in one piece..and dont regret it:thumbs2:

It was still a nice deal but I could get it for slightly less here in Belgium (actualy traded it for another piece so it didnt even cost me money). Kujo was cool about it (otherwise I wouldnt have done the trade) since he could sell it for profit so - everybody happy :)

There are only 2 other bad guys i'd want in PF - Saruman and a Wraith. I can't really see the latter, as we've already had 2 wraith statues and 2 busts.

Saruman would be ace though :D

It'd have to be done REALLY well for me to want a Gollum. my girlfriend bought me the Gollum 3/4 for xmas and the paint job was awful, so my dad repainted it for me, and now it looks great!

On all the Gollums i've seens so far, they always paint him in a flat flesh tone and it always makes it look bland and boring
