I'm a little disspointed in the pose. Being a Spidey fan I was planning to use MJ & Black Cat as bookend pieces. However, to scale it looks like Cat is going to be about 22" tall (to MJ's 14.5"). That's bigger than the Hulk PF! From a display standpoint I think this piece would have benefitted from a more compact sculpt. Won't stop me from getting it of course, but that's a lot of vertical real estate, especially with detolfs.

I agree. I think having her body angled like it is in the artwork would make this piece work. In the artwork you get the sense that she is actually coming out of the hole. But the statue looks more like someone just posing.

I'm determined to get the exclusive for each piece in this line, so I will still be ordering one. I was to be on vacation all next week, but a few weeks ago I decided to switch next Thursday and Friday for today and tomorrow, just incase. Looks like I made the right move.

I agree with all the other post that it just doesn't seems as good as the artwork. Its a great body sculpt, but just doesn't seems to capture Hughes' work as well as Emma and MJ. From looking at the turn around pic, when zoomed up on her face sculpt, she just looks kinda older than she should and has a "fatter" head. Just my honest opinion.

For a company the size of Sideshow, selling these for $125 still means big profits. I work in the industry and I can tell you that a statue this size (materials alone including manufacturing) can cost about $15-$25 then add about $2 for the box and freight in a large container from China is about $1 per item. Depending on the how much a Marvel license costs and how many pieces SS produces...the rest is profit.

Personally, I really like the statue...vent & all. The only small concern I have is with the missing fur accent on her legs. Outside of that, I look forward to adding it to the collection.

MJ is nice but seeing as she is only the wife of a superhero she loses points in my book. My display space is to limited to be adding characters that obscure to my collection, but thats just me.

Don't forget the 8-10k for the original sculpt, $$ for the original concept, $$ for Adam's art/litho commission, plus hundreds of paid man-hours in development, prototyping, marketing, package design, logistics, accounting, advertising, etc. So yes, there is profit... But there is much more than just the cost of materials, manufacturing, and licensing fees that make up the overhead of any given project.

Good point...so much stuff to choose from. I just figured this one was a no-brainer because it is the 3rd in a series and they are so dirt cheap. I think the Emma EX only took like 36-48 hours and MJ was gone in 24 hours.

Didn't see this answered yet, but I think the reason there is no print displayed yet for this statue is that Adam was working on the final art for the print right up to Comic Con and presumably, that is what is seen in some photos of the statue at the show.

Anyway, I ordered one of the Black Cat statues. I don't think it looks half bad.

I'm not really so sure why so many people seem to take exception to the vent portion. Other than the fact that it seems a bit fragile, it doesn't bother me much.

I'll agree, she's the least known of the three. Probably why they didn't release her first and second. I just assumed that between completists, Black Cat/Spidey fans and flippers who saw what Emma and MJ have done on Ebay that this would have been a much quicker sell out.

Yeah I read the 12 post after I went back to that forum but it was way to late and I didn't feel like changing my post. 12 is good and I'm glad that it's going to happen. I like this piece. Different from others but 1100 is too much. Not a good buy if you want to flip. What's the most they will sell .... at most a buck seventy five $175.00. Figure $124.99 + 12 for shipping + Ebay Fees with Insertion and Final Face Fee .. say $11 + another $4.00 for Paypal.

So to sum it up ... say $152.00 which would leave you maybe with a $23 + dollar profit. YEAH ........ great flip.

I'm super disappointed with this one. I've got the White Queen on display (which looks fantastic), with the MJ on pre-order, but Black Cat really misses the mark for me. The pose is incredibly awkward. Having Black Cat practically standing is probably the worst way to accentuate the very nature of her character. A pose slinkier and sexier, perched atop an open safe with a stolen diamond or top secret document in hand, would have been a benifit both to us as collectors and to the essence of the character. The sculpt and paint application are beautiful, but the concept and excecution gets a thumbs down for me. The first AH! comiquette I'm passing on. Just my humble opinion. Thanks for listening!

Wasn't he "exclusive" to DC when the contract for 6 statues was signed? If so, I don't see why there would be any issue extending the contract.
