"These dioramas are displayable on a desktop or hung on a collector's wall, thanks to the inclusion of a removable base featuring the logo of each subject's film. Prices will range from $99.99 to $399.99."

What's up with the clear shell on the head? Why do most of the collectible companies exaggerate that feature? In the movie, the shell APPEARED to be fairly opaque, despite how the costume looked in normal lighting. Look at the Cinemaquette. It's shell is shaded, and it looks way better.

Hmmm. Think I know where I'm gonna spend a few SS points. I'm glad they made this the classic Alien. There's already plenty of AVP stuff out there, and I've been waiting for a cool classic piece like this. I think it's a great translation from movie screen to sculpt, capturing the dark and eerie feel of the original movie. :thumbs2:

Uploading a couple of slightly closer shots of the Alien dio. for T. There you can see the two Chestbursters the Reg. version and the Micro(small one). The Regular is the original release the micro was the second edition not sure if it was released at all, I believe Palisades went out of business before then.

I wish they were bigger. It looks like Mcfarlane toy size. :(Yes small 15 inches tall and alot of detail like the McFarlane dios. The difference is instead of plastics McFarlane uses, Sideshow used a very dense heavyweight polystone or very dense resin, piece is a bit heavy for its size a quality piece.

Got my first ever sideshow statue/diorama today the alien diorama wicked piece,I normally collect star wars Gentle Giant busts/maquettes and statues and sideshow 12" star wars figures but really liked the look of this and yep it fits fine into a detolf not on the top shelf if you have a light fitted so have it on the 2nd shelf with Hot Toys elder predator2 and A v P alien warrior on the top one.
I do think I`m gonna have to get the reat of the dioramas when they get released in the UK,bigger than I thought it would be and cool, may have to ditch my GG sw busts to make room me thinks.

Just another quick question while I`m here as I said earlier this is my first sideshow statue/diorama do they not come with certificates as with the Gentle Giant stuff or is it just the info you get on the bottom of the base didnt see anything else in the box.I am asking this for my imaginary alien diarama thats sitting in my imaginary cabinet.

I agree.
I'm buying the Predator dios just to display them with a large scaled version Pred.. So, I can have one with a helmet(dio) and one without(1/4-1/3 scaled).
But, for the Aliens the large pieces will be enough for me.

I like the scale for this reason as well. Sure, they would be even more impressive at 1/4, but I'm sure we'll those will come out as well eventually. With all the other crap I collect, I wouldn't have the room for the big guys, so these work perfect for me. I hope they keep this line to a minimum as well, one dio per movie (except Aliens - we need a queen).
