Everyone seems to be divided on this. I would prefer a more accurate representation, but that's what I will have my HH version for. I want this one because I missed out on the first one, it's an awesome pose and the lights. So I can overlook the easy cash-in by SS on this one. How about you?

i'm not trying to get this as stealth armor(only hh has done that armor justice) rather cuz i'm sucker for chrome statues, light ups and metallics.

Couldn't care less. Besides, ever seen pics of the inside of Iron Man's armory? For all you know this sucker's sitting at the back of his closet just waiting for the right occasion to break it out

it doesn't really bother me that much .... but I would prefer it to be accurate ... my money is on this armor showing up somewhere else (comics, movie)

Shocking responses. I think it's a lame and transparent attempt to take advantage of collectible consumers.

Just say no to inaccurate repaints!

Stef Jelos is absolutely right.

We as a forum should boycott this product. It is nothing more than a cheap money grab by Sideshow.

Come August 9th, no one on SF should order a Stealth Iron Man. Heck, you shouldn't even bother going to the SS site until 10h30 or 11 that day.

In someways I care and don't care. I've lost a little respect for SS for this repaint. I thought they were better than this... Will this piece be part of my personal collection? I don't know yet. I'm still in love with my HH Stealth Iron Man. If the SSSIM was comic accurate than it would be a different story.

Doesn't really bother me about a repaint.... probably p!ssed off those that have just paid a fortune for the red/gold one...

seems odd as well to announce another lightup IM while the charity one is still available. I know if i get change to get one, i'm gonna repaint it to the red/gold and i'll have a special one too :D

I don't care at all that it isn't comic accurate.
I don't care at all that it is a repaint.
I don't care what it may be worth in the future.

I think it looks fantastic, it lights up, and I want it.

Same here, love the pose, the colours looks nice and it lights up, I couldn't care less that it's not straight out of the comic book.

Hold on... this statue alone caused you to loose respect... not the 3 different Spiderman variants.. (Four if you count the original Exclusive)

I like the Stealth look.. and who is to say that it is not a part of his costume already... didn't he give Spidey the Iron Armor costume that basically did everything, made him invisible, made him classic spidey, made him symboite spidey, made him peter parker spidey, made him Porker Spidey... come on... the statue rocks... and I will be there at 10:01 am...

Now if Sideshow could just release a Dr. Doom with a silver throne... my world would be complete...

could this possibly be something from the movie? being that its a simalar style costume being used in the movie and they did give the red/gold version to robert downy jr

Tetragrammaton

I doubt it.

The movie armor and this one are styled similarly since both are based largely on designs by Adi Granov, but in detail they are rather different.

This was just the easiest way for SS to produce a second Iron Man comiquette without any additional sculpting work to be done. Slap on a new paint, throw in the electronics, which I suspect were supposed to be in the first comiquette from the beginning, and poof, people buy them up. For SS, easier than printing money.

I expect an accurate representation from Bowen. However, I don't place that same expectation on any other company. Early on, Sideshow struck me as a company that did whatever they wanted. Thing is, more often than not, their decisions turn out to be excellent ones.

Do I care about accuracy? Not with SS. They don't pretend to be devoted to the character's history either. The IM, the Thor/Loki, and even the Western Ghost Rider, all of which featured unfamiliar (at least to me) renditions of characters, still look amazing.

07-29-2007, 01:01 AM
I like it and really dont care that it is not accurate I think the stealth armor is ugly anyway, so to me its a blue IM so they dont see him at night.

What do you all think the edition size will be? 750? 500?

yeah, does anyone know for sure this isn't in the movie?
