Some questions about the Bowen, yes i know this is a Sideshow thread and i hope they'll make one too.

Here are two pictures of the painted and chrome versions.

What exactly are the differences and could anyone put up more detailed pictures of both.

Agreed. I still think SS will make one at some point.

I agree that Sideshow missed the boat at the con. A SS comiquette would have been the icing in the cake given the lack of a Marvel PF.

Right now, Bowen's upcoming action pose looks pretty good. I would not pay the ebay prices for the museum version without seeing what Sideshow is doing first.

Which do you prefer, the painted or the chrome?

Can you tell me what happened to the chrome on one of the pictures i've posted. Or can anyone else?

If you are going with a Chrome Silver Surfer then Bowen is obviously the way to go (if you want to spend $500+).

As far as a Painted Silver Surfer, the Hard Hero is far and away the best Surfer on the market (that will set you back $200+). Not only is he a more accurate rendition of the Silver Surfer, the pose is dynamic and is a better painted SS than Bowens version! HH's Silver paint app looks like Silver paint. BD's looks more gray to me. Here are some pics that no one has posted on this thread as of yet.

Ebay and if you want an AP, check RazorsEdge.com. It will set you back $350! Don't know if they sold out of the one they had. Last I checked was a week ago. No one knows where the HH Chrome SS is! Word is that if it goes up for sale, it would be posted no less than 1K! Good luck with your decision!

HH Surfer is 1:6th scale. Bowen's is 1/8th. The HH Surfer is about 14" tall but it is much more massive than Bowen's. Not heavy per se, but consumes a little more room!

thanks guys!

Rich, i used a Sigma 30mm Lens f/1.4 with these shots. the out of focus right hand in that pic you mentioned is due to the f/1.4 aperture i used for that shot. i wanted to really blur the background but i probably should have gone 4.0 or stepped back a little. good eye! sometimes it's hard to completely capture the subject in clear focus without including details in the background. i think it's because i use "center weighted average" as the metering mode. maybe i should try "evaluative" or "partial" metering..
