Whats the best masking material to use over "flowing" surfaces? by that I mean not flat.
Is it easier to cut out the mask material first then put it in the right area or is it best to apply it then cut?
I know people say silly putty and play doh work well but is that best for this?
Thanks in advance

I've had play-Doh leave a residue  Never really tried sillyputty, but I've used Micromask, which you brush on. I'd say Micromask is like using latex.

liquid latex by mold builder. sillyputty is great too and doesn't leave a residue.

Yea, actually I've been using Mold Builder latex more often since it's waaaay cheaper then Micromask and covers better. Micromask is too thin.

I used to use Moldbuilder all the time, but prefer Silly Putty now. I've never had a problem w/ the putty pulling paint up, unlike the latex.

I use silly putty, it sticks just enough but comes off easily. And its cheap.

If your lucky Kmart, Target, KayBee Toys and possible places like CVS.
I bought up all the ones i could drive to in NJ, and gave in and just ordered the $79 (5lbs) from crayola site. Saves me the headache and time driving around to find those eggs......:banghead:
Plus that 5lbs of it will last a looooooooooong time if ua keep reusing the stuff.

Get the original stuff, that color crap that changes colors with heat gets to tacky and scared the hell out of me when i used it once. Stuff stuck to the statue like i put some chewing gum on it.
