View Full Version : Back To Sculpting Again.

After seeing how many people were doing new stuff, making kits and whatever, I got the bug to start working on stuff again. I'm not producing statues, or kits, because I no longer have my shop, but will be doing original sculpts for my collection.

I just started working on one of my favorite characters, The Silver Surfer. As soon as I get some good shots I'll be putting them up on my website, and posting a link here. These are all roughly 1/6th scale. I like working in the larger formats because the pieces are more substantial. Not to mention for some reason the smaller stuff throws me off a bit.

At any rate, I thought I'd say something positive about some of the people in this forum, as you've all inspired me to get back into the game, if not at least for my own interest.

Mind you all, that I'm working on a monthly comic title too, so my time to sculpt is going to be limited. I might only get one piece done over a month. I'm happy to share pictures and what not when the pieces are in progress. That, and when I figure out how to post links to pictures in this forum. For some reason my browser has a love hate relationship with the coding.

Take Care, and talk to you folks later on in the week.

Hey Tommy The biggest problem I had was that I had to shrink the pic down to 700x whatever then they worked everytime.

You mean smaller than 700 pixels? Height or Width??? I've had no problems posting some tiny pictures, but the larger ones come up with broken links. I host them on my website, which doesn't soak up anyone's bandwidth on the forum.

At any rate, I just finished Cap's shield, and Silver Surfer's Board. I will also be doing another sculpt of Spiderman based on a Romita piece I have. Romita to me was the definitive Spiderman artist.

As far as my Captain America goes, that one won't be done for some time. I just got the armature done. I usually work on two pieces at a time, that way I can alternate which pieces I'm doing, plus if I've got one curing up, I can be working on another.

If I ramp up my productivity which should happen since I've loaned out my copy of Resident Evil 4 to a friend, I might get some work done.

Anyway all, I'm outta here.

Take Care all of you.

Tommy

it doesnt mater as long as the pixels on either side are 700 or less. 700x 540 works or 540x 700.
