I use to be a big fan. I got kinda tired of them after a while though. I loved SF II and SF II Turbo Champions Edition. Mortal Kombat II was my fav from that series. I liked the first two Tekkens, but got tired of them. Never cared for Soul Caliber or Virtua Fighter. DOA was pretty fun.

I'm siked about the new HD SF game coming to XBL next year though. My boys at Udon are working on it and it's going to be sweet.

Personally, I've played most of them. I even have like Samurai Shodown and Darkstalkers... and if you're into emulators theirs a boat load of classics to play.

Akuma us my main in any SF game. For the VS series its Charlie, Akuma, Guile or Strider. Only problem i have with MvC2 is they nurfed Charlies nock ups, cause they were amazing in MvSF.

street fighter is still the canon, but i think guilty gear series has made some serious improvements in fighting game dynamics.

You might be thinking of Primal Rage or whatever it was called. I don't remember an ape in the Killer Instinct games. I was a big Chief Thunder fan. Glacier and Cinder were cool too. Man, that was a cool game.

Not a all time fav fighting game, but when your drunk Super Smash brothers is fun.

A cousin of mine had it, and after a family gathering we went back to his house to chill. Was a blast.

If your a street fighter III fan you`ve got to check this video out it`s from evolution 2004 (a fighting game tournament in the US) and features Daigo Umehara (ryu) vs Justin Wong (chun-li). It starts off pretty much like a normal match with each player winning one a piece but what happens in the final 30 secs of the final round is awesome.
To set the scene basically wong (chun-li) still has just under half his energy bar left while daigo has a about one pixel! of his energy bar left. Which basically means one hit (whether he blocks it or not) means game over, chun-li launches into a superarts move and......well just see what happens, but lets just say you need to appreciate sf III`s parry system :buttrock:

How does that parry system work, like a reversal in Tekken?

you basically push foward at the same time your opponent attacks which blocks (parrys) their move leaving them vunerable for a second. It`s difficult to do though don`t know how that guy managed it especially at that point in the match :buttrock:

Reminds me of good ol' Art of fighting 2 where you'd have most of your life bar left and your oponent down to a last hit when all of a sudden you get a last ditch move in your face. These were very hard to pull off but with enough practice you could succeed them every time and they take away almost the entire health bar. You need a full energy bar though to do them so when your down to your last hit it's always a cat & mouse game of holding off/avoiding your oponent untill you fill your energy bar and pulling off the right ditch just at the right moment.........good ol' times :)

Can't remember if I posted on this.

My all time favourites would be Street Fighter series.
Followed by the Tekken 5,
King of Fighters(2D).

Played a lot of Street Fighter Alpha/Zero using Nebula emulator on the PC.

In fact, I am more adept at performing the superarts and manouver by using the keyboard. :P
