What usually happens in this situation? Will there be a full investigation and the set shut down? I know if there is an accident on a construction site the site will be shut down for an investigation.

Standard procedure and historically, the set in question will get shut down and the crew who were involved will get questioned to ensure no foul play.

Production doesn't normally hve to cease, as it's only the set in question that needs to be addressed.

It actually happened at a test track and not a set location
"An ambulance spokeswoman said he was pronounced dead at a test track in Longcross, near Chertsey, in Surrey."

Well, then it shouldn't halt production at all then.
