"Son of a Gun" was Joey Bishop's tag-line. Well you know they're shaking the shakers and pouring the martinis in heaven tonight. The final living member of the Rat-Pack cashed in his chips and went on home to play the bar with his boys.
I've always been a big fan of these entertainers and Joey Bishop held his own with the best of 'em. His early 60's sit-com, which ran in repeats on TV-Land a few years back was pretty landmark. Joey played a late-night talk show host who lived in a swank Manhattan Apartment w/ his beautiful bride played by the gorgeous Abby Dalton and was often joined at home by his hilarious manager played by the very funny comic Corbett Monica.
Mr. Bishop went on to host his own late-night talk-show and was the number one guest-host for Carson on the Tonight Show.
