Black Friday you will be able to pick up a Toshiba HD-A3 HD DVD player for $169.99 at Sears.

The offer will be valid Friday November 23rd from 5AM - noon both in stores and online.

You will get 300 and Bourne Identity in the box and the possibility to get 5 free HD DVDs via a mail-in offer.

damn 2 already, I was waiting to see which format won out, with ps3 sales slipping and I have been leaning toward XBOX 360 this may be the logical choice for me.

I got a REALLY good deal in my second one and jumped on it :)
Jump on this deal, Sniper, really good for the price! Kinda like getting the HD player for free after you get the movies

Anyone one if the specs on the A3 include 1080p? I read somewhere it was only going up to 1080 interlaced and that progressive was only available on the higher priced models.

I think the A3 is full 1080p:)

Sears website says it is a progressive scan, but is only 1080i.

You guys are nuts if you try and buy it in store on black Friday. You will have to get there hours before the store opens to have a shot at it.

I have the day off but I think I'll just get up around 7 or so which is just a bit later than I normally get up. That way if I get it, great, if not. Oh well.

This friday may be even better, in the Big HD News thread it was posted that Wal Mart may be having a sale this Friday with a HD DVD player for $99 and HD DVD titles on sale for $14.98.

I hope this one is true.
