If you want a cheap one to start off with, you can hit ebay for cheap badger air brushes.

100 or 150 models would run around $66-200.

250 Model Cheepos are like $18, which is more like a small spray can with not much control.

Then there is a place called airbrush city that are like knock offs of the major airbrush companies.

Also on ebay there is compressors that come with free airrushed for around the $200-300 mark too.

Just try to get a dual action one, better to learn off one of those.

The Badger 100G is a great starter airbrush. Heck, I still use one for basic base coating and working with Lacquers. Because it is gravity feed, it is easy to clean and you get nice steady smooth spray pattern. Great brush! I think you can pick one up from DixieArt for like $60.00 shipped

Check out Paasche VSR-90 too at dixieart.com. Nice general brush for about $66 shipped. One of the really good things about Paasche is that the parts are dirt cheap.

Definitely gravity feed. There are several advantages, but the main 2 are:

1.) They are much easier to clean and maintain

2.) you use lower air pressure and get a finer and more consistent spray pattern
