I was discussing Disney movies wit hmy wife the other day and telling her how I thought that the Disney company does not like Mothers. They are always dead in movies or they die early on.

Nemo: mother dies
Aladinn: where is the girl's mom? nowhere to be seen.
Snow white: her mother died a long time ago
Little Mermaid: where is the mother?
Beauty and the Beast: where is Beauty's mother?
Mulan: did it even mention her mother?
Bambi: mother dies in the beginning
Pinochhio: creepy old man living alone

Just my end of the night thoughs.

No kidding.
Also have you noticed that in pretty much every Disney movie someone dies?

Don't forget:

Cinderella- Only has a step-mom, and an evil one at that.

Pocahontas- Mom's dead

Hey, the 'single dad' thing seems to be a winning formula, can't fault 'em for that! They have shown the love for the mamma's in a good share of flicks though--

Sleeping Beauty
Lady & the Tramp
Dumbo
Peter Pan
Incredibles
Toy Story(s)
Lion King
Mulan
101 Dalmatians
Lilo & Stitch

Keep in mind, too, that Disney takes their inspiration from classic fairy tales, and in all the tales listed, there is no mention of mothers, or the mother is dead. (In 1001 Arabian Nights, in the tale of Aladdin, only the girl's father is mentioned). In the novel that Bambi was based upon, Bambi's mother is killed by a hunter.

Can't fault Disney for sticking to the source material. The only one you can nail 'em on on that list is Finding Nemo. :D

Just look at the amount of adds on tv with the mum and kids in the kitchen, or garden, or car etc and no sign of the dads.
