Doh! Damn, that sucks, Cougar. I think you've got a good shot at getting it back before Christmas. Even if you do, that's crappy. CoD4 is incredible and it's too bad you can't play it right now. I probably didn't make you feel better by saying that. Got any buddies who could let you barrow their system for a couple days?

Here's my Cod4 opinion so far: the graphs are awesome but dont shine through in the darker levels (1st, 2nd and the nightvision parts). Neither am I impressed with the indoor levels so far (I'm at level 5 now). The outdoor daytime levels blow you away though (love the third level!). Another gripe is it's too easy, even on veteran. By the time you reload your fellow soldiers call out "area clear!" - I mean those guys are terminators!

All in all great game, just wish the multiplayer had some achievements for us stat junks :d

Sony maybe light years behind for the online experience but they`re light years ahead regarding build quality.

I haven't had a problem with my ps3 yet, but they do have a 40% failure rate, which is nothing compared to the 90% on the 360. But 40 is high too. And my sony sxrd has succumbed to the notorious yellow haze. I wish these expensive products would not crap out after a year.

I think they meant online community as in just a big fan base like Xbox Live has to play ppl.

Still I think regardless of what many ppl might think, you only play a select few on Live, and whether you have a million to play against or a thousand that's still plenty to go around.

Remember: you heard it here first.

I own a PS3. So far, none of the games have been mindblowing. So-called "exclusives" for the PS3 end up being ported to other consoles too.

If you ask me, I didn't buy a PS3 just so I can play the "Final Fantasy 13 omg exclusive only." Alot of the games have way below-par graphics (Spider-man 3). Furthermore, the PS3 has launched ever since last November and good games (debatable) are FINALLY coming out. I can only hope those will bring a ray of sunshine to any PS3 owners.

The games for 360 at least seem to come out consistently, with awesome games from time to time.

The only thing I use my PS3 for right now is the silly DVD player function..........and I have a 40 dollar DVD player right below it. :thumbsdow

problem I have with PC is if your video card isn't up to par, it looks like crap and runs like crap! If you have deep pockets to spend 140 bucks every 9 months or so to keep your video card up to par then ok! Not to metion if you have an older system, you need to upgrade your processor too! which costs even more! Alot of games need over a gig of Ram to even function the right way. Alot of us have older systems. So the price of a processor and a half way decent video card will get you an Xbox Elite! A system you wont have to upgrade for a few years until the new next gen systems come out. I used to play all the time on my PC, but not anymore. My PCs memory is reserved for other things besides games. And the Xbox network is awesome!

Well, that's not always true. You can buy a second tier Video Card on Ebay for around 100 dollars and play Call of Duty 4 on the best graphics. Plus this game (original Call of Duty) was originally only made for the PC. The online play on the PC is so much more fun in my opinion because the play is so much faster (keyboard and mouse allowing much quicker response times in games)

Besides, the "slower" gameplay on a controller doesnt disadvantage you since everyone is playing with a controller (on consoles) so everyone is equaly "slow".

As for the online play, like I said for me, nothing beats the depth and perfectly worked out xbox live function.

Oh there's always glitches when a game first comes out and what makes you think it's so hard to find someone to play on the PC?

And besides for someone as openminded as yourself what makes you think we all have the same geeky PC setup?

I have my PC setup to a 30" LCD for games on which I can either play from my comfy chair or couch as well. Wireless keyboard and mouse not to mention one of those cheap mounts for them on a chair. I just find it funny that you laugh at it as if it's more primitive.

Like I said if you have the money. And upgrading every 9 months? Stop buying the cheapest cards on the market then! My card has handled HL2 to Crysis and the upcoming FarCry 2 of which will be PC only. Take care of your PC and you won't have problems. I haven't had any at all. And now with Leopard out for the Mac I can dualboot Vista on there as well and play the games no problem.

I only like live because of my friends are there so I can talk to them other then that I'll always opt for the better LOOKING and better CONTROLS of a PC. :rolleyes2

No one likes to play with a handicap just because everyone's experiencing the same thing.

Besides, the couch comment is more than irrelevant; when you're pulling off headshots on a wicked 8800GTX card, who gives a damn about comfort? It's not like you're squatting on two pieces of 2x4 for several hours. More often than not, if the computer is the place to be, you'll have a decent chair to sit in.

The keyboard control takes some getting use to, but there's nothing more accurate than a mouse in a FPS. There's a reason why console games use auto aim assist. It's because the controls aren't as responsive or accurate as a mouse. Not opinion...it's just true.

I agree that computer gaming isn't ideal though. Keeping up with cards and whatnot can get annoying and expensive.

No, I hate them because they are archaic and primitive. The keys are cumbersome to use and it just isn' as intuitive for me as having everything in the palm of your hand ala a controller.

I didn't mean to make it sound that insulting but was referring to the fact that if you're a long time gamer/fan of FPS you most likely started on a PC. To say that you hate those controls would prolly mean you grew up on consoles and have no experience on a PC to see how superior the controls are.

A good example was Quake for the Dreamcast, ppl could play PC ppl and they were pretty much beat hands down unless they got a keyboard for their system.

Same for the 360s Shadowrun, again PC vs. Console ppl no contest.

I think the joystick on a controller of ANY system is hardly intuitive. But if ppl get used to it enough they can overcompensate it's drawbacks (like with anything else) to make it work.

Like I said I have every system. And I still prefer to play those certain games on the PC. Not all of course. Which is why I have multiple systems for that reason.
