Hey I was wondering if Black Goliath shouldn't get the nod. If there is two Hank Pym busts and maybe even a Clint Barton out or on the way shouldn't we finish of the growing guys set with Black Goliath? Plus he's a 70's cat and we all know Randy likes that era. Thoughts comments....

Sure after the Clint Barton Version (CBV) and Wasp are made and as long as it doesn't knock any other bust that's needed to complete a team. I don't see why not.

It's the collar that would make the bust...
I'd buy him - the group of busts I most like to see additions to are the miscellaneous characters that either supported their own title, their own run of an anthology title, or played prominent guest roles in titles such as MTIO. Black Goliath, Man-Wolf, Werewolf-by-Night, Howard the Duck, Ka-Zar and Zabu, not to mention, were there to be some licensing miracle, ROM, Conan and Red Sonja. These to me speak more of what the Marvel Universe is about than the next X-Man or Avenger (much as I love the Avengers...)

Rom :bawling: This One would have rocked.
I would have thought there would have been an ideal opportunity for some enterprising sculptor on this forum to sculpt ROM, Conan and Red Sonja busts in the exact scale and style of the Bowen Designs line, to release as a kit of some sort. I know that, if they looked the part and were in exact scale, I'd buy kits of all three and paint them up to display with the BD line.

I really dont want to see any more sculpts of this freakin guy, theres going to be two versions to this one too? :thumbsdow
There is a ROM sculpt that someone did that is absolutely perfect! It's a full figure of ROM, neutralizer in hand, on an alien landscape. One could probably turn it into a bust quite easily. However, what to do about the eyes?
Is it in the BD scale? If so, I'm in. I think I'd paint Rom's eyes. You know paint is the only way to do these things in a classy way.

Does Marvel still have the right to Conan & Red Sonja?
Does Marvel still have the right to Conan & Red Sonja?
I don't believe so (Dark Horse?). That's why I thought the only way to get them in the Marvel style and the BD scale would be if one of the forum sculptors produced a kit.

I believe that it is in scale.
The scale is 1/6 which is the only bad thing about it to me.
I'm getting one around the end of the month of start of next.
But I'd LOVE a bust in scale with the rest of them.
Wonder what it would take to get the license for him to get done, think Hasbro still owns it.

I definitely vote for Black Goliath. All of you Avengers fanatics would appreciate that in the early Avengers issues Bill Foster (later to become Black Goliath with a little help from Hank Pym) was Hank Pym's lab assistant.
The afro alone on this one could put this bust above Randy's mini-bust height requirement!

I have that issue! Maybe that Spider-Woman blood is all Black Goliath needs to ride on her coat-tails for a major comeback in 2005. Does anyone know if Bill Foster is one of the characters Mr Hudlin plans to use in Black Panther?;)
Would BD call him Black Goliath or Giant-Man on the bust box?

To Me My Board just reminded me, by his post in another thread, that disco-style Dazzler and original runaways Cloak and Dagger deserve to take their place in this pantheon of Marvel's lesser lights who supported their own series in the 60s, 70s or 80s.

Cloak and Dagger remain in memory as being the most mysterious and downright coolest characters (especially cloak - Candyman anyone?) to ever appear in a Marvel comicbook.
The Spidey saga with Cloak and Dagger and Silvermane (remember him?) was an absolute classic - no question! I'm gonna have to go in my attic now and dig them out again...ahh the memories!!

As we enter Black History Month, not only would I like a Black Goliath, it's about time the war drums start the beat for a bust of Jericho Drumm - the one and only Brother Voodoo!
PS - Count me on on a Devil Dinosaur as well!

I'd buy Brother Voodoo and Devil Dinosaur too. Characters like these are what Marvel Comics is all about.

I'm all for a Brother Voodoo. I'd also like to see an original Blade with the brace of stakes across the chest, shades and of course the 70's 'fro.
Cloak and Dagger rock! I always like the mystery of whether they were mutants whose powers were brought forward by the drugs they were injected with or if the drugs themselves gave them their abilities.
Skull the Slayer, man that's reaching there. I have an issue or two of his exploits somewhere. I'll have to dig them up.
Killraven would be a great character to get busted.
I wish I had remembered all these guys on Friday when Randy put the call out.

Black Goliath's navy blue and yellow dud was the better costume. Bring it on!
I like the white and blue costume, but the navy and yellow one is probably the way to go for any bust. The collar, and the inexplicable 'H' outline of bare flesh, render it a classic.

I've always liked the navy blue and yellow one. Definitely classic!
This is not meant to sound sexist, but IMO, the white 'top' without the collar makes Bill look like a fat girl, i.e. those who wear knitted tops but don't realize how awful it looks when STRETCHED. Look at the pictures again and tell me I'm wrong!

I always thought that "Black" as was just added to differentiate his name from the Hank Pym character and not a reference to his costume but rather his skin color. Also I believe it isn't really yellow but gold.

Back in the day I remember liking the short run comic of Black Goliath, but people had issue with black heroes with the name 'black' in them. Till then I never thought of just how many did have 'black' in the name Panther, Manta, Goliath, Racer, and a few others that are not as popular. Being a white guy though I remember thinking how cool a character BG was and hoped that the publicity would not bring him down. After all he was a Scientist and successful. I always thought BG was a possitive model, but he never did go very far and Marvel did try to push him pretty hard on the public.
