Thanks for the compliment!:)

The glass shelves are approx. 1/4" thick. The glass is not my biggest worry but more the tabs holding up the glass. If anything gives it will be them as they seem quite fragile.

As the title states, it has been a calendar year since I stumbled upon this site. Couple that with the fact that I'm playing around with a new camera and we end up with progress pics...my how time flys.

This is still a work in progress so suggestions are welcome...

I knew that before I ordered and I think it was the main reason I did not buy this piece earlier. However the more pics I saw of it, the more I wanted it. Oh well, one of the hazards of this hobby.

Wouldn't the crack be easy to fill, smooth and be re-painted. I have never none a bust before but I figure it must be like drywall, just smoother. What to you think, should I try for a repair or just leave it?

As the bust is produced from fibreglass it can be repaired. I think the crack on the side will be fairly easy. Obviously the crack on the neck/collar is more complicated due it being corrugated.

Personally if they are not too noticeable from a viewing point when displayed, I would leave them.

When displayed none of them are really visible, however, it just eats away at me because this is the only broken piece I have in my collection. If I can get the shoulder repaired I think that would be good enough but afraid to make it worse. It's a long shot but I'm gonna check the yellow pages for sculptors or artists that may be able to fix this.

Beautiful set up. Not only are you not married, but with that much around I'm guessing you don't have any little ones running around? My 6 year old is a terror and constantly tries to find ways into my cabinets.

As a Kitbuilder I'd say get there are only two reasons to fix the cracks. One, its bugging you (I mean REALLY bugging you); and two, if they take any of the weight of the figure they can get worse as time goes on. I pin EVERYTHING I can on my figures for that very reason. These don't look like weight points, but its hard to tell.

That being said, make darn sure the person you turn it over to knows what they are doing. Even a good repair/kitbuilder can fudge something up and your risking your entire statue. Better a small crack than a bad repair job.

In fact, if you can live with the shame :) I'd leave them alone unless they are going to get worse.

Also, did you collect all those this year? Or did you collect before and now just bs with the forum? I'd have to sell a kid or two to get that kind of collection in one year . . . oh, and get divorced. Hmmmmmm.

Thanks for the advice regarding the crack on the statue. It still annoys me but not as much as when I first received it so I have decided to just leave it alone. I'll make a small mark on it to gauge whether it gets worse or not.

To answer your question, 95% of the collection, namely all SS, Attakus, and Hard Hero were all collected after I joined this forum. I had a few Bowen's and the Moore Pitt before joining this site. All of the info, hype and photos on this site have caused a purchase frenzy over the last year to catch up on previously released pieces. I didn't realize before coming here that all the other companies even existed. It has definitely been an expensive year but I don't like to think about that, the collection brings enough joy to make it all worthwhile.:thumbs2:

I found them at a furniture store, they weren't exactly what I was looking for but they were the ONLY ones I could find that would fit the SS PF's and dios. They turned out to be better than I thought.

@Squider, do you know the name of the store or the name of the furniture? I love that the PF Darkness and Grievous statues fit in there like that. There is some serious weight on those glass shelves! I'm amazed they don't shatter. My PF's are usually placed on top of furniture as nothing I have will accommodate their size. Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

The cabinets were not custom made, they are made by a company called Universal. The store is called Finesse Furnishings in Edmonton, Alberta. I don't think it is a franchise but I'm not sure. For anyone in the area that may read this, the store has the WORST after sales customer service you will ever know. I will never shop there again.

The glass shelves are about 1/4" thick and for width of the cabinets, I believe they will handle a considerable amount of weight. I actually had the Doom PF with other pieces on the top at one point but everyone warned me about it and rather than have everyone tell me "I told you so" I decided to move it.

I think so. I bought him off eBay and didn't want to risk damage returning to the seller. With SS QC reputation, I didn't think I would find one much better and with the shipping fees on this one, I didn't want to order too many more.:laugh:

The IM was captured with the "nifty fifty", 50mm f1.8 but most of the others were with the kit lens 18-55mm. Have a couple of new lens on the way, but damn, they're taking forever.:mad:

I use Photobucket for my uploads but I had to upgrade to the Pro because I needed more upload space. It also allows for larger image sizes, definitely worth the $25 for the year.

You're right, the Alien bust has incredible detail, as does the Predator.

Agree 100%, between SS and Bowen new releases it feels like the list keeps getting longer. Actually don't mind that Attakus, Hard Hero and Moore are slow on their releases so far this year, wallets taking a beating.:laugh: As for the older pieces, I am catching up and find myself on eBay much less than before, this is a good thing.

Made by C. Moore, they can be found on eBay for cheap. Great, underrated pieces IMO. A bronze version has been recently released, absolutely beautiful piece and one I would love to have in my collection.
