Right before Thanksgiving, my XBOX died from the red ring of death. I contacted them and then sent my xbox return box to me. Well, less than a week and a half later a new (or refurbished who knows) XBOX arrived at my door.

Thats fantastic service.

Now, I will admit that the original 360 is crap, but they are making up for it..

I would think if it's refurbished it would have to say so somewhere around the area where the serial number is.

Yeah, I doubt it's an older refurbished system. That would only create more headaches for them by having to replace the systems over and over again. It's probably a new model.

Microsoft dropped the ball huge on the hardware out the gate, but they've done everything possible to fix the mistake and I think they've done pretty good given the situation. This could've been catastrophic for them, but their service has really saved it.

Their repair center is in texas so the turnaround time will be faster. They probably already have a new/refurbished system waiting to be shipped once they got your xbox. That's still great news for everyone.:buttrock:

I was playing Halo with Jstorm when his went out he said it would freeze and turn off. Mine will freeze every now and then and say it can't read the disc.

Sometimes when I'm playing Halo with four people on the same console, it freezes, but only when we all fire at the same time.

I won my Xbox from Mountain Dew before you can buy it and I haven't had any problem with it except for Test Drive Unlimited online until recently. It freezes up when I try to get into a room for GRAW 2.

If you buy the XBOX Elite (which is comparable to the PS3), then you won't have the red ring of death issues.

Plus, the PS3 is having a pretty decent percentage of failures, also.

Only problem i have had with my PS3 is in Game Freezing and Menu screen Freezing every now and then...

Granted mine is only 2 Months old...

I played KHII, but didn't get very far. The farthest I ever got into a Square game would probably be near the end of the first disc of FFVII. I had to quit though..couldn't take any more hehe. Square uses the term rpg very loosely like all jrpgs. Oblivion...now THAT's an rpg. FF and the other jrpgs are just interactive movies if you ask me. You don't really make any choices or create a character..you just go through motions they set up for you..can't really see how that's role playing. Not trying to start a debate or anything..it's just my opinion on these type games.

What, that I like good games? If I wanna watch a movie, I'll pick up FF..if I wanna play a game, I'll pick up something else. As Odin says, it's just not my kind of thing..if you dig it, more power to you...it looks like you'll be getting a new one every other year, so you should be happy.

Half Life is my favourite game of all time too. Really like Zelda OOT and Mario 64 as well, two games which were very innovative
