Unsettling if true, but I figured I'd post the link here and see what others think on it.

I've been doubting the credibility of the larger gamesites lately...this just confirms it more.

It's something I've always wondered about, it does seem like it'd be a difficult balance to maintain. Do you bash a game if a company is giving you hundreds of thousands worth of revenue?

Journalism itself is a tricky field to maintain integrity in, but when compounded by the fact that your bills are paid by the very product you're reviewing it seems almost impossible.

The first time we agree on something =)

But I think Gamespot is ok at times. And I never liked Gertsman at all, I've always said I wish they got rid of him cause he always gets the big games to review and rarely lets others. Good for you Gamespot!

He was a tool anyways, too old and out of touch with gaming for being a senior editor and reviewer.

How can you say this is good?

Gamespot was essentially paid by EIDOS to give a good review for a game.

When the journalist did what he was supposed to do - and that is to give an honest review- GAMESPOT fired him.

Gamespot sucks and the deserve any ill will that comes their fricken way:mad:

Too true, I completely agree with his review as well, he's as scrutinizing as I am with my games, and for getting fired for what we essentially look for, an honest review, they screwed themselves into ever being credible.

A lot of people don't like him for certain reviews he's made especially on Zelda and since then he seems to be very pretentious in his reviewing and acts as though if you like bad games or games that he considers bad he acts like you don't know anything about games sometimes.
