Some info:

Variety recently reported Emmy Rossum, from "The Day Afer Tomorrow" and "Phantom of the Opera" has joined "Dragon Ball Z" based on the Japanese manga by Akira Toriyama's.

Rossum is in the lead female role of Bulma. Her father has been kidnapped by Piccolo.

The film also stars Justin Chatwin in the role of Goku and James Marsters is Piccolo.
James Wong directs.

They are trying to do it like Spider-man and make it like a real world type of possibility, which I think ruins the appeal. I just want to see over the top like taking the anime from animation to live action. I am a huge fan of the show, but I don't think I will like this too much.

The story has to be top notch and stay true to the anime and manga, but at least the CGI will be good, for example the flight and aerial fights and perhaps Piccollo's elongating arms.

I am not hoping for an exact replica of the anime or manga, but I hope that at least it will be close, but judging from the pics so far...not good.

It's hilarious, because THAT guy in not even look close into looking like Goku. Justin Chatwin is skinny as hell and then again Goku is yoked and literally is the master of any martial arts there is. This movie is gonna BOMB!

I believe that the company Funamation bought the right's from the creator of the series.

Did you notice that the trailer says that humans created the dragonball's. Isn't the big part of the whole series is that the race of what piccolo is created the dragonballs. Another thing, what is up with having to them gather the dragonball's before the eclipse. What! are they trying to copy HEROES on their story of power.:banghead:

if i remember correctly a few years back when DBZ was at it's most popular they actually kicked Akira off the movie at the time because he didn't like where it was going, so that should tell you right there how much they care about the property

Hey--So I took my nephew to watch this movie--He thought it was pretty awesome but that was coming from a 12 year old. He had never seen any of the anime cause his mom believed that it was to violent of a cartoon. Ha Ha. So I took him to watch it and yes--that I knew this movie was going to be terrible.
I guess the movie was fair enough to say that my money wasn't totally wasted. Though this movie should have gone directly to TV. You know on Cartoon Network movie day or something like that. You guys should read IGN'S review of the movie. But after reading the review they didn't mention anything about the terrible special effects that were in the movie. I believe that some TV shows have better effects than this movie did.

After all I could say about this movie--it doesn't matter--cause the fact that the producers or who ever was in charge of the material didn't want to follow a good plot of the dragonball series. Lets just hope that this movie was meant for kids and not for adults.

Here is a good suggestion on if they wanted to see if they could produce a decent dragonball movie. How about instead of Piccolo as the Villain why not try the Red Ribbon Army. You know something simple with just humans and not aliens. You know put some androids in the mix. Fox does have the tech for androids cause look at Terminator Salvation--Which I believe that this movie will be :buttrock:

This was one of the worst movies I've ever watched. I could barely finish watching it. I really wish they would have made it better and more true to the anime/manga, instead of trying to make it more American/teen-friendly, or whatever. As a big DBZ fan, I was severely disappointed. :[
