I wasn't expecting these, but they are really cool books. Check 'em out!

I have both of these in HC. They're great. Les Daniels is a pretty well-respected comics historian who's also written some key books about Marvel (Fifty Years of the World's Greatest Comics) and DC (Sixty Years of the World's Greatest Superheroes). It's worth picking them up, too.

Congratulations on your gifts!

These are cool. I think there is a Wonder Woman one as well. Warner Brothers Gallery did these a while ago as a limited signed hardcover with a Ross giclee print included. I have the set.

Really? I got the hardcover boxed Superman and there was a Ross sculpure in it, but not a giclee. But, mine wasn't signed so, perhaps, it was a different edition.

We may be talking about something else. The one you are talking about comes with a doll right? I have that but never opened it. I thought it was a different book. I could very well be wrong.

No, it's not a doll. Not the Superman one, anyway. It's most definitely a Ross 40s or 50s versioned Superman statue.
