Batman looks cool, except that his arms are way out at his sides. I'm sure this is a function of his musculature, but it looks like he's ready to hang we laundry on them to dry...

FINALLY a Black Manta figure that's not those bad "Superfeinds" toys.
But the "neck" looks to long. Maybe the helmet comes off,and that's the only way they could do it.

Yeah, the only real issue I had with any figure in this assortment is Black Manta's neck. A removable helmet would be a nice touch.

Wow... Black Canary looks great! Who's the sculptor on these? Did Bruckner handle either series?

I really like these but I agree with the too long neck and the fact that Batman is flexing his back so he can't put his arms down is a little silly

These look great. I have a friend who will love these. (BTW, I like the Alex Ross style...realism is a great goal, though Batman's arms are "out there.")
thats typical DC Direct action figures all around, they are all flexing, but the Ross's are a number one in my book, I am even considering getting a second set of Series 1 to open....

I wasn't too thrilled about these until I saw them in person. I picked up a full set. At first I was a little hesitant to buy yet another Superman, another Flash and another Sinestro, but I have to admit, in my opinion these figures are visually some of the best DCD has put out in a while. I'm really looking forward to getting the rest of the series. Hopefully DCD will continue making them until all 30 characters from the comic are accounted for.
I agree, I wanna Martian Manhunter in Ross Style and Green Arrow

I thought the recent GL ones were done well too, but passed on the set as I would rather have a few other sets coming out more.

Yeah, the GL's were really nice, too (Hooray, Kilowog!). I picked those up as well. I think part of the reason I like the AR JL so much is that I really didn't have very high expectations because they were essentially re-do's of previously released characters, but I ended up being very impressed by the finished products.
Thought I would post a link to open shots of Superman and Bizarro

A great series, I picked up Flash and Superman the other day and am looking forward to getting Batman, Aquaman and especially Black Canary! I was looking at Black Canary's face and wondered if anyone else though she looked like Donna from "That '70's Show"? Something about the eyes and the arch of her eyebrows maybe. Were these sculpted from Ross' JLA posters? I'd love to know if he used this actress as reference for his work!

don't worry dcd will probably pull the plug on these also.i was waiting on a green arrow and an aquaman mini bust in there set but they shot that out of the air, they weren't that great, but they weren't that bad either. these look really good but who knows how long dc will make them?
