Had the unfortunate accident the other night of damaging a number of GG SW busts and statues.
For the ones that only have small chips, cracks and scrapes to the paint work, could any master painters advise me on how best to fix these, what paints i should be using to closely match the original paint work etc etc? Note I am not a painter or sculptor just a collector!!!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ouch! So sorry to hear that.

Honestly, you can use whatever paint you are comfortable with. I mainly use water based paints, they are easy to use and clean up.

More than likely, you will need to said the chips down to a smooth surface. Wash off the dust. spot prime the area. repaint/touch up and seal your work.

You may need to do a little putty work, I would suggest picking up a small bit of Aves Apoxie sculpt to do any putty repair work.

What Danno said, especially about the putty--you could also use Magic Sculp. The putty can be shaped with your fingers, toothpicks, etc. Smooth with a soft brush and water and let dry overnight. It can be sanded when dried.

Danno also typed "said" but I think he meant "sand".

To get the semigloss paint effect on the Imperial Guard, paint the spot with water-based acrylic paint, let dry, then mix a little Future Floor Finish with water and spot it on with a brush. If it's still too glossy spray a little Testor's Dullcote on the tip of one of those sponge brushes from the hardware store and gently dot that on until the finish is close.

Good luck--hate seeing Mr. Bossk all dinged up like that!
