Guys;

I've got one of these die-cast figures:

I have two gripes with it:

- Teeth aren't very sharp, and they're silver.
- Eyes are a dull sort of red.

I was thinking of:

- Painting the teeth black, then using a 000 brush paint each teeth ivory and then brown wash everything.

- Painting the eyes a bright silver, then drop a tiny dollop of clear red paint on each eye "pupil" (thus making it, if everything goes as planned, more menacing and bright).

Does anyone foresee any problems with this process? Any better ideas?

I already have a Hot Toys Endoskeleton and I love it, but I really think my Aoshima one needs some special attention, in order to look better.

Thanks! :-)

If you want the eyes to pop, then paint the basecoat white.

However, you might be able to get the effect you want by painting over the existing red with Tamiya Clear Red (it is a vivid transparent dark red and might give the effect you are looking for without a total repaint of the eyes).

Your plan to repaint the teeth sounds good. Remember that teeth have some gray in them, so mix in a little gray with your ivory and you should be in good shape.

Glosscoat the teeth with Future for a final finish.

Thanks for the tips!

I don't have access to Future Wax here. Can I just brush the teeth lightly with an acrylic gloss coat?

Thanks!

Yes, that will work fine.
