Yep, and I liked the story. Same with Madrox. It was cancelled too. Both were better than the Rogue/Gambit series.

I have been refusing to pick up spin-off books for a while now. If I had the feeling they had a plan and had worked out a great story that could not be told in the core book, I'd be more inclined, but Marvel has been exposed as a money ***** (hoar) for a while now. It's sad, but an event that causes a lot of them to die or get sidetracked would not make me shed a tear. I too echo your praise of Astonishing.

According to Darick Robertson, the drawner of the Nightcrawler ongoing,
the series ISN'T CANCELLED.

Darick is actually penciling issue#7, and he'll draw #8-12 at least.

Marvel is going to announce it in June I think.

Madrox wasn't cancelled. It was only solicited as a limited series. It was not originally intended to go more than 5 issues. The editors note in the back of the last issue notes that Madrox may return in some form (either more minis or a regular).

I'm sorry to hear about Nightcrawler. It had promise. Mystique was alright too. I won't miss Emma Frost. Gambit, Rogue, New X-Men: Academy X, and District X all deserve the chopping block.

Soooo.....

A) NIGHTCRAWLER is just on hiatus for three months?
(I guess that's the new thing for mutant books.....ASTONISHING is going on hiatus after #12 - even though it's already two month's behind schedule!)

B) I do like NEW X-MEN, though I think they're probably getting TOO into the "teen" thing, which is probably in direct response to a lot of people thinking they didn't get into it enough in GENERATION X.

C) I saw this "House Of M" mentioned on the cover of EXCALIBUR #13 - what's it supposed to be about? Is this when Wanda regains her sanity (just in time to join the X-Men for her co-starring role in "X3")?
