Testing & a question....

Just testing here with a first post though I do have a question if anyone can help;

I'm trying to figure out how to change the standard "Doh!" text under my user name.

Doing a search on the FAQ I did find this answer;

"How do I add a custom status to my profile?

If the administrator has enabled custom status titles, then you can specify the text you want to display by editing your profile and entering the text you want in the Custom User Text field."

But after I've clicked the "Edit Profile", there is no listing, place or any category entitled "Custom User Text field". It just starts with "email & password" then goes through until "Occupation".

Am I missing something? Am I looking in the right place? Or is this option turned-off until I reach a certain minimum # of posts.

You can get it changed by sending a PM to one of the mods.

i always thought that area under the username was like a forum ranking for post counts. i've noticed through out posting when you hit certain post numbers it changes.

the only exceptions i've seen is for industry professionals and mods for the forum.

Okay....I understand now. I didn't realize it was a random generator that gave out different phrases once a certain # of posts had been reached. I was mistakenly under the impression that everybody just came-up with their own clever saying or whatever.

EDIT: I also take it that signatures are turned-off for new people as well considering there's nowhere anywhere in my "Edit Profile" to set one of these up. Is that correct? Is this another case where one has to PM a Mod to get that option turned on as well?

You can but only ask. If you become a paying member, you can change your status yourself, as well as getting a signature, larger avatar, increased PM capacity, as well as a few other perks.
