I like the idea of sculptors having there own mini boards, good call by the Statue Forum.

All of the buzz and hubbub when the SS Hulk was released I just wanted to say after all the dust has settled Andy B has sculpted a masterpiece that is The Hulk.

I remember when the question was being banded about the best Hulk Statue and various contenders for statues mini statues and busts were being looked at to decide. I remember a picture Andy/you posted of the Kirby head as a hint to the look of your hulk but never actually letting on what it was for or how large a sculpt was he/you were doing.

It was like a powder keg going off when the statue was shown and that energy continued for weeks and weeks. I liked it so much I bought 3! (and if I had the room I would have another).

I wanted to thank Andy for his fine contribution, I hope some day you do another.

Wow, thanks for the major kudos! The Hulk statue is definitely a personal fav of mine, I'm always amazed that he's made such an impression on so many other fans/collectors. Thanks for the comments!

Andy's PF is a monster! Best there is. I do hope a more modern version comes out in PF eventually though.

Also, I'm assuming the SLJ pix were for 12" portraits, but still hold out hope for a 1:4 Mace PF.

That was just a little clay sketch I did to get the pose for the 1/4 scale version approved by Marvel. Unfortunately I think I recycled the clay and don't have that little maquette anymore.

What amazes me is the amount of perfect detail thrown into this piece. How many of you have bought Bowen sculpts, or others? I know I have, but I have never seen this amount of fine detail thrown into the final production line.

Not only is this the definitive sculpt, it places the sculptor near, if not right to, the top of the list of the best character sculptors in the world.

The face really depicts the classic Kirby style really well - it's almost creepy! The classic Hulk is more popular than any other incarnation.

That's awesome! I wish, I could get Andy to put a little graffiti on my custom Hulks base. But, I would want it either on top or on something I could display with him. I would hate to have that sketch and sig. under the base where I'd never see it.

You know, there have a been a lot more 1/4 scale pieces in my collection since the Hulk. Some more intricate, more detailed, but I think if I really had to, Id sell every one of them before selling this piece. I only hope that when the 1/4 scale Colossus comes out, it moves me as much.

Its a tough one Fuzzy, I REALLY dont want to get into more lines, even some of the great busts Ive seen, barring the Iron Man that I have, Ive turned down to be able to condense my collection to 1/4.

Ive got loads of busts, like the Ultimate X-Men entire line that Ill end up selling because I love the size and gravitas the 1/4 scale provides.

Im just praying that the 1/5 isnt as definitive to me as the 1/4, because I really love this size and dont want to be torn, even on my favourite characters.

From the sneak we saw though, Im already in love with the musculature!

Wow, this Hulk is AWESOME! I love the way that it's not your usual Hulk Smash kind of pose. This ones got a "Frankenstein" feel to it. I can feel his heavy torso twisting. There is so much weight to it. Wow, thanks for the inspiration!
