Did you ever try beer & clam juice? I tried it down in Mexico. My brother in law made a dozen for me. They call a Clamato. I think that is the name of the Clam juice since it has tomato juice in it too. Then you add some lime and sea salt to your taste. The favorite beer of choice for this mix seems to be Pacific beer. Pretty dam refreshing if I may say so myself.:)

That's a good one too. I like the Fezziwig and Cranberry Lambic the best.

Is this thing with adding tomato juice to beer a west coast phenomenon? I'd never heard of it before until an uncle of mine visited from Oregon and horrified us all by adding tomato juice to his beer. Weirdest thing we had ever seen and nobody, I mean nobody, would even try a sip of it. :puke2:
Best beer I've ever had was Panther Lager from New Zealand. The water they use is really pristine and it makes quite a difference. Hard to find here, though. Since Sam Adams is local, I'll usually buy that when I'm at a bar. Their Oktoberfest should be out soon and it's amazing.

I gotta get more of this; a friend brought me a six last year, and it was amazing stuff. Like autumn in a bottle--in a good way. :thumbs2:

I also love Breck's Vanilla Porter--sort of heavy, but a great sipping beer. My standby is Fat Tire--love the stuff.

I'm picky about beer, though. Aside from a very cold beer on a very hot day (when I'll drink whatver's frosty), I's rather have no beer than average beer. (This doesn't mean I don't drink; I just have a gin and tonic or a single malt straight.)

I wanna try that pumpkin ale

With most pumpkin ales, you taste the nutmeg, which is o-k in the fall. The thing I love about the Buffalo Bill's is that you actually and quite clearly taste the pumpkin. If you're eating chili, you can't go wrong. They've recently switched to a rice base which has diminished the overall flavor (a bit more watery now) but it's still one of the best pumpkin ales out there.

There's one more, which is the king, I just can't recall the name. It only comes in large bottles and is quite $$$. I buy a few of them annually and really save 'em for special occasions. I know it's an American brewery 'cause they don't make pumpkin ales anywhere else. I'll post the name shortly.
