Seriously, we all know in a battle Hal would mop the floor with DD

But seeing how DD is the man without fear, could he wield a GL ring?

Does he have the willpower to steal the ring from Hal?

Thoughts?

No.

i'd imagine with training Matt could be a good lantern, but no way he'd "steal" anybodys ring, look how hard it was for Batman to use it, so i don't see anybody just picking it up and whooping a trained GL with a ring

Put DD in the Yellow costume he had for the first 6 issues and re-evaluate this question...:)

GLs don't have a weekness against yellow since the Paralax left the Central Battery in Oa. Only rookies have some hard time with yellow.

It's a fictional world so of course DD could wield the ring..

I like GL..but DD is the man :buttrock:

Can a blind man wield the power ring? GL's power is very visual, after all? And DD's been blind for a long time.

I know GL could still fight after being rendered blind momentarily in "The Nail" but that was very temporary.

Discuss.

can't think of his name but theres at least one lantern from a world with no light at all, they made his ring into a bell and taught him how to use it with sound instead of the usual color lessons

Part of Matt's appeal as a hero, is the fact that he's such a flawed character. I don't think he could steal the ring from Hal, nor do I think he would steal it in the first place. I think he could wield it momentarily, but not well enough to ever be in the corps.

what a bunch of zombies... so you people believe daredevil can win against the GL and then talk about why Batman lose against greater odds. :thumbs2:

It wasn't supposed to be a physical battle, but more like if the Man without fear, could handle the ring.

Think outside the box man

I just don't get why people have to choose one or the other.

With proper training like any ot her rookie GL, Matt Murdock should have no problem being a GL ring-wielder

Anyone remember when Deathstroke tried to take Kyle's ring in Identity Crisis?

He nearly did it to by breaking Kyle's focus (and his fingers if I remember), but couldn't keep the willpower up.

I think the same thing would happen to DD, although it depends on if you think DD has more willpower than Deathstroke.

I think Matt would make a great GL. The fact that he is blind would make his imagination even more inventive and the ring coupled with this already enhanced senses could make for some interesting abilities.

No one beats Hal though :thumbs2: :p

Could DD defeat Hal Jordan? - Not bloody likely. See next question.

Could DD steal the ring? - Sure. But only if Hal was careless.

Could DD wield the ring? - Absolutely. The ring creates hard physical objects. If anything, Matt's special power would probably give him greater ability to form the objects in the first place. And willpower he has to spare.
