Sorry, I've collected every issue of Uncanny since 270 (and have a straight run since 175) and those were the worst issue in my opinion. He had good ideas, and I loved hearing about them in interviews, but the execution was awful. Just my opinion though.

There aren't any I get two versions of, unless I'm upgrading from a MB to a FS. I have three Angel busts (Deathmask, Blue, and Archangel) and I'll have two FS right now, Archangel and HH Blue. If Bowen does one I'll pick that up too.

only 3 issues in & i'm enjoying it. the painted art impresses, and it's satisfying to see at least some x-men not get their a$$es kicked all the time. i like laura's role & there's kinda this spare, Clint Eastwood-ish dialogue.

i think it's a limited run, so it'll probably be easy to get in one or two tpb's.

I really like my NXM busts. The Dust J. did for me really stands out in my collection. Heck, most all of them do.

My X-Men case is getting pretty crowded. I'm going to have to figure out what to do with them. And at the rate Jesse has stuff planned my DC area will be expanding as well.

Because most painters find that work tedious .. they would rather just get to the painting.

I was freaked out at first, and had NO CLUE what I was doing. I felt like an idiot asking what I thought were obvious questions, but I had no clue. There were some nice people on here who helped me out. Now I've had several kits done and several out. It's addicting.

Yeah, I went big for Archangel, but his style and ideas fit in exactly for what I had in mind for Archangel. Vince is very metallic, and this statue is in a big way. I've worked with him, J. and Dan Perez now. They all work differently but they do good stuff.

I'm too much of a perfectionist in my own work. When I do other arts & crafts stuff I just see my flaws when I'm done. We have a stained glass mirror I did in my living room and every time I look at it I just see a few of the things I messed up on. No one else really notices it and people seem to really like it, but there it is. I want to take it up kit painting someday, but I'm holding off.

That kit does seem very clean and in just a few pieces. You've pretty well had him built and painted in just a day.

I've got the Bowen Snowbird one. I'm going to have this one done as Walter. If I didn't have the Bowen though this one would be Orange all the way. I'm glad I never picked up the orange Bowen or I wouldn't have gotten Jesse's.

im the same way, shoulda seen me with my own x23 and surge. ive kinda let it go a bit. ppl like them, i see flaws but they dont and they are what matters. :)

I think most people are like that. If someone else does it though I don't see the imperfections as much, if at all.

Could be. I have one painter that's very fast, but it still takes him a few weeks sometimes. And that's once he gets it. There's a Rogue I paid for in November that's still not out yet. Jubilee took about 5 months to get painted, but the painter was backed up when I sent her. I knew that going in. Vince has had my Archangel since...October, I think. Maybe November.

Easy fix ... find a pair of 1/8 scale crocks insert them into the dust cloud and you're in business. :D :thumbs2:

Actually, I used plain old household transparent tape for the bolt this time ... I'll post pics of it tomorrow.

I'm finding that the blue tape works best for me the putty seems like a sticky mess, the tape i can just cut into the right shape however it has pulled the paint ugh.

Merl ... weaken the adhesive by patting the tape to your shirt a couple of times ... the lint on the shirt will come off on the tape and it will be less likely to pull paint off.

When you work with washes, it's light to dark.

Base colors first, then the wash, then a little dry brushing if you think it needs more high lights.
