More proof that as you get older, Dating apparently becomes harder.

This is about as twisted as I've seen lately.

This is one step away from Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Sounds like that Mormon cult. Just on a smaller scale. Just sad.

i shudder to think about how little hope the captives had--the kids down there HAD NEVER SEEN DAYLIGHT, & were only recovered because the man himself brought them up. if the older girl had not gotten sick, or if he hadn't taken her to the hospital, no one would've ever found them!

for the one such case they find 'in time,' how many are still out there???

How could his wife not suspected anything?

Afterall, he had to, at least, feed these 7 kids. Didn't she ever see any indication that he was either buying or spending more on food than would be needed for 2?

So he is the father and grandfather brings new meaning to the saying keeping it in the family.

he's been called "an authoritarian" (& by the Austrians, no less, who know a thing or 2 about them) who forbade his wife or the upstairs kids from even going into the basement. according to cnn, he'd buy food & bring it to the captives in the evening. i, too, doubt the wife knew NOTHING, but i would imagine she was rather oppressed if not abused upstairs.

just ... awful, totally beyond the pale even of jokes.

This is some fu**ed up sh*t right here. How in the hell could you have people living in the basement for 24 years and no one ever look in there? That IMO is weird.

Read this a couple of days ago, it was all over the news in this country.

Couldn't believe it at first and I'm still a bit shell shocked now.

what kind of justice system does Austria have that the most this guy faces--for confining his own daughter for 24 years, raping her countless times, similarly confining 3 incestuous children, & disposing of the body of a dead infant--is FIFTEEN years in prison???

Most people don't even want to know what their neighbors are up to. I know I don't.

24 years is a long time to not ask any questions though. Makes you wonder who did the midwife thing?

I'd quite like to have a sex slave in a dungeon, but not my own daughter!
